I almost passed right by this one. Didn’t realize you had posted it until you mentioned it in the Chris Dave reaction. This song has been one of my favorites of hers since Dreaming was released and is the perfect example of why I feel Vienna is such an underappreciated artist. It’s mystifying, really. There is so much going on here that I don’t know where to begin. I hear echoes of Gershwin. I hear echoes of Thomas Newman (major Newman vibes, actually). I hear Bach chorales. And that’s just scratching the surface. The vocal range she’s staying within here is, for me, her strongest and expressive (when reaches into those higher registers, her voice can sound a bit strained and thin to my ears). Anyway, yeah, total fucking masterwork. Great request, great reaction.

Oh, and how cool is it that Dean is on this album?

Very cool. So dark and dissonant.

The track was written about the flooding of New Orleans in the aftermath of Katrina. Vienna captures the tone wonderfully.

Such a cool track. I’m becoming more of a fan with every song.

Wow - I figured there was a chance you would like this one, but it got a much stronger reaction than I would have thought. It's from the same album with Nothing Without You - most of the album is slower and/or moody tracks. No real high-energy ones.

I don't specifically care about those things. Yes this was fantastic.

@@JustinPanariello oops - forgot to reply... Yep, I know - my comment was just an FYI about this album since we've already done another track from it.
