I was an artillery forward observer with F-Troop 17th Cav. We used to see these things all time running convoys with armored jeeps and V100s. Impressive firepower.

When these gun trucks were behind me on convoy I had peace of mind. I was the last vehicle in convoy, as wrecker operator, and these guys were great security. When they opened up at a firebase perimeter I will never forget that sound. Thanks guys.

Long ago, was a mechanic with Battery E 41st Artillery (MG) one of three ADA batteries of Quad Fifty Gun Trucks in Vietnam. Stationed at AnKhe and Tuy Hoa, QL19 from Pleiku to Quin Nhon, QL 1 to Tuy Hoa. Was I ever that young? Prayers for all who fought for all who suffered, for all who still suffer. from the Second Indochina War. Our Vietnam War

A very good video showing how American soldiers defended themselves on the convoys . Could have been a lot longer .

Good documentary I don’t know why they had some college girl on there talking about Vietnam? It’s a story of the men that served. Not some college girl who has no business being in the same room.

Mr. Silver, I am not sure what you heard. The brief narration in the beginning of this video is narrated by a Black man, a professional voice over talent. We chose him because the majority of Gun Truck drivers and operators were African Americans. This video is part of a major exhibit on Vietnam at the Ft. Eustis Transportation Museum.

@@sherristaples7293 Very well done video and could have gone on longer with stories of how the gun trucks repelled attacks and protected the convoys .
