We visited Vietnam’s largest market, the Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh City! This is where you can find the best cheap shopping in Vietnam. Think fake bags, cheap clothing, Vietnamese food, and incredible souvenirs all located within the Bến Thành Market. We show you the day market and the night market in Vietnam so you can make the best decision of which to visit.
The Ben Thanh Market in Saigon is the one of the largest and oldest Vietnam Markets. With over 3,000 vendors, Bến Thành is one of the best things to do in Saigon. You can find some of the best cheap shopping in Vietnam here all for incredible prices. The quality of the goods in this market are great and haggling is a must while you’re here! If you want to relax and avoid the bargaining, you can stay to the fixed pricing sections along the outer walls of Ben Thanh.
As far as a fake market in Vietnam is concerned, I would say you can find the highest quality knockoff goods here for the best prices. There are many markets in Saigon, but Ben Thanh is the biggest and most centrally located out of all. It is also the market that is most geared towards tourists so make sure you bring your best bargaining skills.
Vietnams largest market, also referred to as Cho Ben Thanh, is located in district 1 Ho Chi Minh city. You can find everything you need in district 1 including food, drinks, Vietnamese culture and more. After visiting Ben Thanh Market, you might want to hang around district 1 Saigon and wait for the Ben Thanh night market to kick off around 8pm.
Cho Ben Thanh is easily the top night market in Vietnam, particularly in Ho Chi Minh City. We enjoyed the night market in Saigon a little bit better than the day market because there was space to move around. However, both markets sell very similar items. If you’re looking for things to do in Saigon, we highly recommend both the Ben Thanh Market and the Ben Thanh Night Market.

Both of you have a very positive point of views on the places you have visited . I’ve been to those places and it’s been terrible experiences, vendors force you to sell their goods, the aroma of surroundings and the heat and so forth. For all your videos. I like watching it because you understand the way of life and culture of people and places you are visiting .

Panchitobear thank you for that compliment!! I can totally see someone having a terrible experience... it’s very congested. A good and bad thing i guess we do is that I research and watch videos of all the places we are going to make sure we know what to expect. This takes some of the “wow” factor away but at least we aren’t shocked and taken off guard with what to expect. So glad you’re enjoying the videos!!! Thank you for watching 🙏❤️❤️

When in Vietnam I found it best to get out early in the morning or late in the evening to escape the heat. The hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Min city is over whelming especially the crazy traffic.

Thats why i avoided Ben tanh market because of that. Its all up to you if you let them bully you into buying their goods. I been there for a month i saw how they were but i simply avoided the sellers.

First, I had carpel tunnel surgery yesterday, so this typing thing right now is really slow and arduous with one hand but I had to comment since this is one of my favorite markets! I just love the food and smoothies in this place, got some really nice sets of fresh water pearls here for great prices, and brought home three very beautiful Vietnamese silk traditional outfits for my wife at this market! The park blocks, as I think I mentioned before, are also very close to this market, and are fun to walk through to converse with college students in the afternoons so they can practice their English. Also, the women do Zumba in the park, and there are couples dancing there, too! I hope you check out crazy Bui Vien Road at least once, too. Oh how I can't wait to get back to Saigon, I was just talking to my friend that lives there this morning on FB. Enjoy your time there, the people are amazing! Safe and happy travels to the two of you!

Ben Thanh is def not a cheap market. However, for foreigners, the price is reasonable. It's a little bit too much for local people but its tourist place, no wonder. The foods there are amazing. I went there to eat when I was in VN and absolutely satisfy. The price for food in this market is much higher than average local place. But its worth the money. Their foods are quality. I had a bowl of soup, the shrimps were super big. I have never had those big ones any where else before. The sweet desserts and smoothies are must try. So so good. If you have chance, take them. You will not forget it.lol. Hope you enjoy yr trip.

If you want to buy stuff, you should do it at places just like ben thanh but on a local scale. Ben Thanh is popular for tourists, that's why the prices may be doubled. If you buy stuff at another market and don't get scammed you'll find out something you purchased at Ben Thanh for eight bucks could be four bucks in another location. But you guys looked like you had a lot of fun, thanks for visiting my country ^^

Thank you for this great video. Allow me to share some fun facts about the city you're living in. Ho Chi Minh real name was Nguyen Sin Cung and Ho Chi Minh city was formerly known as Saigon city. Saigon was found and established by the general Nguyen Huu Canh in 1698. Saigon eventually became Vietnam's largest economic city. Before the Vietnam War, Nguyen Sinh Cung (later known as Ho Chi Minh) went to China to gain military support to invade Saigon. During his visit in China, Nguyen Sinh Cung adopted a Chinese name - Ho Chi Minh. Later when Ho's government succeeded taking over Saigon, they changed the city name to Ho Chi Minh city. To many Vietnamese people living in Vietnam and aboard, the name Ho Chi Minh reminds them of war, deaths, and pain. Many Vietnamese people still feel allergic to the name Ho Chi Minh. However, the name Saigon not only easier to memorize, but it's not sensitive as Ho Chi Minh city. Thanks.

Invade Saigon? The best joke I have ever heard. Ngo Dinh Diem and American cheated in election, because they knew if they hadnt done that, Ho Chi Minh would have won. They prevented North and South Vietnam from being united, they were the ones who invaded Saigon.

Crossing the streets in Vietnam is always dangerous. But if you have to, best to first avoid cars/trucks. Let them pass you. Second is to proceed at slow pace so those motorbikes have time to see you and avoid you. Third, don't be erratic like stop and go or fast and slow in your walking. Allow those motorbikes to be able to predict your path so they can avoid you. Enjoyed watching your videos!

Me and my girlfriend were in Phu Quoc island and found your video when we were planning what to do in Ho Chi Minh city only for few hours until our flight. I am very glad that I saw you video. When I was walking down the street, I found Journey’s Sandwich Bistro and had one of the best sandwich experience there! Your tips about the night market was pretty useful as well Thank you for the tips and great videos. Keep up the great work!

DeathByVlog Oh you definitely should try that island before it gets more crowded and expensive. I dont travel much like you two, so not so sure if it was the best in the world, but definitely the most chilling 5 days I have ever had with my girlfriend :) Absolutely recommended. Also, I hope you come to Japan as one of your journeys one day :)

Really love your concept "Unlike other travel vloggers, we live and work in a different country each month with a moderate housing budget. Sorry, but no backpacker lifestyle here! Our channel will show you what it’s like to live abroad while exploring top tourist destinations and hidden gems. We will show you mouthwatering local food tours, provide history on each destination, and cinematic broll for all of you film lovers." you nail it. wow

Ummm, Actually, An Dong (7 minutes moped riding from Ben Thanh) is larger, cheaper. Kim Bien in District 5 may be the largest market in HCM.c. Oldest ? doubt it very much. Nice clip, you 2 so cheerful.
