WE are SO SORRY for the bad behavior of a few Americans -- there were so many of us who hated that and did NOT feel (nor act) the same way. (WAR IS HELL like Gen. Sherman said, but there are times when we must help our allies fight to keep our own America free and allow us to think freely and express what we wish without threat of harm. That is our America -- let's keep it that way!) It does not matter what the reason for war is or was, where it was or is even now, our brave young men (including women, today) fight for the freedom of our (YOURS AND MY) Country, laid down their lives for us and our Country, are still doing that, and NOTHING can ever minimize that! Yes many soldiers did horrid things during Vietnam, and many of them contrary to popular belief were severely punished for it.Also American soldiers got blamed for a lot of things that they weren't responsible for either, like that fire bombing picture with the little girl running away. Yeah that was the SK but America got blamed for it. My grandfather told me stories of his service ( he didn't like too but I always got him drunk first.) They grew up in that country and grew up through the rise of the Nazi party, they didn't know the true evil that was going on. The sick bastards were really the SS officers, the Nazi leaders, and those alike. Those regular German soldiers just wanted to follow orders and feel proud for serving their country, not get grouped with the rest of the filth of the Nazi party.

Sk8mattGaming Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece. Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

That scared me then, but now I justalmost get sick from the thought of how scared Mike, Reavis, Barry, Timmy, Kenny, Mike Snyder, Jerry Marco Rich Gudiwitsch were. They did not make it back home. Their names are engraved at the beautiful wall in DC; a powerful monument. I too tossed my sea-bag into a dumpster in San Fancisco. I had a pair of old Levi's and at the time I wasn't proud of my time in the corps, but now I am SEMPER FI

Many of the stories were nightmare fuel because my father told them to be honest, not to sugar coat it and they didn't, but I knew after meeting and talking to those people that I had to become one of them and when I graduated from Marine Corps boot camp in the beginning of 2002 my father recorded the ceremony and took it back to the VA to show it off.

And right there & then I decided that I would thank each & every Soldier that I seen for their service & sacrifices for my freedom. Since the age of 7 I am not going to try to tell how many I have welcomed home as I’ve been doing that for 50 years now. I have had the honor of welcoming home some of our Vietnam Veterans home. I’ll never forget my 1st one home, I went to make a payment for my niece in Kingsland, Ga. & as I was leaving a truck was pulling in. It was an older gentleman & he had a Vietnam Veteran sticker in his back glass. I threw my car into reverse. I parked my car & waited for him to get out of his truck, I walked up to him & said “ Excuse me as I extended my hand & said I just wanted to tell you thank you for my freedom & welcome home” He started crying & I did too as I wrapped my arms around him & it was one of those hugs you feel deep down in your soul & he said “ Thank you so very much, you are the only person that has ever told me that” & I absolutely lost it. I love you all & I say with so much love & gratitude THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE & SACRIFICES THAT YOU HAVE MADE FOR ME & MY FAMILY. GOD BLESS YOU ALL 🙏🇺🇸❤️🙏🇺🇸🤍🙏🇺🇸💙🙏

She suffered from multiple disorders similar to what a Vet would have throughout her life and finally has a balanced life. The health problems she has due to the war are sadly still present. I do not blame these Vets for what they did, they were following orders. My mother encourages both my brother and I to join the army. Once I'm of eligible age I'll join just like my grandpa did, like my uncle did, and like my brother has. These vets don't deserve to be shit on and disrespected. I remember when I came home from Desert Storm, people were lined in the streets welcoming us home. When we saw a man the had a sign that said " Welcome home from a Vietnam vet". We moved to the entire side of the bus that we were riding just to thank him for his service OOOOOORRRRRAAAAHHHHH

welcome back, and do you have any advice for a young man who plans to inlist in the corp?
@mrtequilashooter9 жыл бұрын
BRAYDEN Kirkland choose your carrier field with you heart and mind, Don't try to impress any one from your town or school. Every carrier field is (and I can't stress this enough) very vital to this nation. Good luck and I hope this helps.

i'm a vietnam vet but i have heard his exact story word for word too often not to be sceptical. read the book Stolen Valor. i'm believe he's a vietnam vet but i think he's embellishing. Bob Green a journalist and author wrote a book questioning if sissified hippies would dare attack Vietnam Vets.

I did the same thing when I came home...took all my uniforms and burned them...I was so ashamed of my uniform...I did not have a choice, I was drafted! And still, I read comments here where the hate of us is still there...too many tears for the hurt...smh

I my oldest son and daughter are only ones in my family that ever enlisted. Now all three of us are 100% disabled veterans from our service.

We were kids. We went because we thought it was the right thing to do or didn't have any choice. We did what we were told. We didn't like it but we did it. I've got a Nam vet cap. I don't wear it. I wear POW/MIA stuff. I'm not proud of the war or the people that send other people to do their fighting for them. I'm proud of the people that have enough guts to go. You never forget how it was and you'll never believe how it was if you weren't there. Try it. You won't like it either. Then judge us. Then.

Crypton Exploitz sorry, calling me not american even though i have an us citizenship, u rlly r dat delusional. lmfao, then y tf did u bring, "look at wat dats going on in the world, rn", just look at ur ignorance. heck, the reason y us, the USA invaded iraq is because Saddem Hussein, yes, he maintained the middle east "peacefully", but he had invaded ten other neighbouring countries and killed ten thousands of his people. its liek saying theres dis guy murdering people in dis city, and then here came dis cop who later killed the murderer who tried to kill a woman, then after the scene, people start blaming the cop as a culprit

They aren't even concerned about themselves... their only problem was the worry for those who didn't make it back. I feel so sorry for them
@rondodson57363 ай бұрын
I too feel sorry for those who didn't make it back, but i have no hard feelings against the Vietnamese either. They were soldiers like us fighting for what they believed in. I also feel sorry for their soldiers that didn't make it home. I have been back to Vietnam twice. It is a beautiful country, rich in traditions and wonderful friendly people. I have even met some of my old enemies i fought against.

As a daughter of a vietnam war veteran, I have always had the up most respect for those who have fought for our country. It makes me incredibly sad to know that people who have risked their lives for our country got disrespected. When my father returned from vietnam he was spit on by strangers. It makes me happy to see a video like this that shows the deserving welcoming that the veterans and my father should of had.
@evilzinabyssranger56958 жыл бұрын
Yeha, the "peaceful hipies" ... Suckers. They should blame the government not the soldiers. I HARDLY doubt that one of this douchebags would have the courage to spit in the face of the comunist soldiers who start to raid South Vietnam ( or before in SOuth Korea, Same shit happened). its easy to spit in a firnedly person, but they dont have balls to do that against a true enemy.
