Reynolds Tomter was a Merchant Marine in WW2, grew up in the great depression, and is now 107 years old (and still driving!). He is the oldest man in the state of Wisconsin and shares with us his advice on family, politics, fashion, and more!

Dude, you are so lucky to interview & be in the presence of a WWII veteran & member of the Greatest Generation. My absolute favorite group of people ever. Members of that generation are extremely hard to find nowadays & I'd do anything to be in their presence again. Took that generation for granted when I was a kid & didnt appreciate them back then. They really built & rebuilt America. Wonderful group of people.

If you want advice from an older generation, here’s my two cents. Be kind. Be loyal. Be honest. Love your friends. Cherish your partner. If you see anyone in need - help them. Help people. Volunteer. Be a good role model. Don’t spoil your children, praise them. Regardless of your past, respect your parents. Be a good son or daughter. Be polite. Be very polite. Please and thank you, goes a long way. Open doors for people. If you see someone struggling with packages help them. Be grateful. Smile. Smile a lot. Most of all, everything you do, do it with good humor.

Jack, thank you for this interview! 107 years of wisdom. I loved watching this interview. My father lived to be 98 years of age. He lived through World War II, boots on the ground as a an soldier in the 71st infantry division. He was 19 when he left, had just married my mother, and had a six month old son. After Germany fell, he worked at the Nuremberg trials. Then he came home and fathered 7 more children. I was lucky to be called one of Frank’s daughters.

Feel blessed this popped up on my feed. Wonderful to partake in your interview with Reynolds. He gives hope that the best is yet to come for me. So happy he is being honored. My Dad served in the Navy in WWII. He had to get his parents to give permission for him to join, as he was 17 years old.
