The Dracula on your helmet is a nice reminder that I had a fair amount of artistic talent and painted a few Batman/Dracula signs whenever we set up someplace semi-permanent. I think that bright red thingamabob on your helmet probably wouldn't be a good idea, though. Your accuracy of your kit is pretty impressive. Drac Alpha November Six Kilo,... out.......

My dad served with 1/2 Ramrods Co. C. 1ST Inf. Div. 1966-1967. The black scarves earned distinction when they captured a viet cong stronghold in the villiage of Lo Go. Under the command of Ltc Prillman. He used the pajama material of the viet cong to desiginate each company of the 1/2 by different colors.

I saw an interview of a Nam vet who said they used Smoke on every mission to prevent friendly fire incidents with friendly artillery. But like you said, it was probably unit or mission dependent.

I was in Alpha Company of the Blackscarves... The First Division was very concerned about us running out of ammunition, so out in the field, most riflemen had to carry 20 M-16 magazines. That's more than can fit in a reasonable amount of ammo pouches, so most of us either carried our magazines in the heavy canvas satchels that claymore mines came in, or used somewhat flimsier bandoliers.

Participating FFL dealers. Colt did a 50 year commemorative semi-auto only M-16A1. Came with a bird cage & three prong flash suppressor and marked US Property. Way high priced ($2500), but it looks the part and goes bang bang. 1-12 twist so M-193 ammo only if you want it to shoot straight. There’s also an H&R marked version that has a 1-7 twist barrel under the delta hand guards so you can also shoot M-855. I’m not a re-enactor, just an Army brat and 2A guy. ‘Nam was one of Dad’s wars. I also found an original NOS pair of 3rd pattern jungle boots, Vibram soles and dated 3/68, the month and year he arrived in country. Ebay is useful sometimes. I saw an unopened full case of that face camo stick, dated 3/45. I had no idea they’d been in the inventory since WWII. Saw some CBS News footage of Lt. Col. Alexander Haig with the Big Red One on his sleeve taken in about 1968. What a CO!

Inerts. Good luck finding a non-inert smoke. If you want functional, enola Gaye eg18x works well. Maybe you can find a way to place one in a m18 shell. Probably wouldn't be too hard

Probably not hair products but a comb can be a lifesaver. Clean out dirt and not have it all stuck together. And condoms have their uses such as barrel covers
