Today's adventure in Vietnam took a surprising twist when a Vietnamese aunty tried to set me up with her daughter! As I set out to explore Dalat to eat the famous food this city is known for, I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing hospitality of all the locals here.

I love Dalat. Love the weather, the people and the food. My wife is from Phan Rang. A 2 hour drive down the mountain at the coast. And yes guys- the simple girls working the restaurants or hotels or office’s are cute. And beautiful and better than any western girls.

David. Da Lat appeals most to Saigonese because in Saigon it is so hot, Da Lat weather tends to be cooler. Da Lat is hilly , There are alot of pine trees there. resembling to area has temperate region. Do you bring macadamia nut and Vegemite to Vietnam yet?

The Vietnamese who died in the 1970's and 1980's did not live to see how beautiful and peaceful Vietnam has become today. As a kid in the late 1960's I have seen US airplanes take off from Mactan Airbase in the Philippines and though we don't know where they were going we just assumed they were all going to Vietnam. The pictures from News papers shows a countryside ravaged by war and later some cities and towns were also ruined. But today Vietnam has grown even more beautiful than the Philippines in some areas when it used to be ruins during the mid 1970's fall of Saigon and battle of Hue. In the 80's a frail thin malnourished Vietnamese man was peddling all kinds of stuff in Siquijor Philippines. He was residing in Palawan refugee camp waiting to go to USA. I don't know what happened to him. I hope he live to see how beautiful Vietnam has become today.
