Very useful, travelled to Vietnam 4 times plus. I am English TEFL Teacher with Masters Degree. Most important Vietnamese for me is Travel. Navigating the Airport, Transfer, Train, Bus and Taxi! Hardly likely to say anything about appearance, cooking and cleaning. Keep it sample as a Journey then explain the Compliments etc. Little bit about Money, Tips and saying Stop etc are important.Getting to your Hotel or Friends is Step One. Relationship Building and Politeness come after initial Journey

When leading Vietnamese you must try to forget the sounds that letters make in English. A lot of the letters make different sounds.

Yes, it helps enormously, I find, if the teacher slows words down and talks to me like I'm semi retarded, sounding out the word slowly and with a bit of exaggeration so you can pick it up at a slow base level and practice speeding it up to sound correct. I'm not at all offended by that. It makes it easier, I find.

Anyways it sucks cause my friend asked him if he likes me and he said no 😕 sucks but oh well lol

@now here Women from royal families have shown skin for thousands of years. Kleopatra, Princess Diana, Princess Victoria, Princess Madeleine, The Duchess of Cambridge: Kate Middleton. Are you saying Prince Harry is low class, most likely poor and trashy ???. From your definition, women should only dress like Mormons or in a Muslim Abaya dress and Men of the Highest class should ONLY be attracted to women wearing something like that.

Thai writing is very complex but in my opinion, the Vietnamese pronunciation is the hardest for a Western speaker.
@adamkimbrough54602 жыл бұрын
Wait until you try Burmese...
@Anatoli88882 жыл бұрын
@@adamkimbrough5460 The tones are much less complicated in Burmese. Vietnamese has two glotalised tones (Burmese has one "creaky" tone) and checked tones like Burmese as well.
@macuser12322 жыл бұрын
it’s not the tones that’s the difficult part. It’s a combination of the lack of learning resources, poor romanization and standardization of it, and lack of native speakers who teach it.
@Anatoli88882 жыл бұрын
@@macuser1232 I agree with that part but overall, the Thai pronunciation is somewhat simpler. And if you take the approach - learn new words as you come across them, languages with complex scripts, such as Thai, Japanese or Chinese are not as complex. Paiboon transliteration for Thai is the most accurate. The English Wiktionary uses that and it's actually one step ahead with even more accurate respellings e.g for short เ.

This is useful, the pronunciation is very clear, but from many years of learning languages I get a little disappointed at the "repeating by rote" without the precise meaning of the sentences being given (I understand you avoid this to avoid overloading people).

Oh I don't know - in Croatian ''Zbogom'' means literally ''with God'' but it's taken as ''Go with God,'' or ''God be with you.'' It's enough to know the word.

ahhh for the second who is tutoring I think thats why some Vietnamese can't understand English because i think the teacher who teach them are teaching with a wrong grammar like in these video says,.. "you are an excellent cook" instead of you cook very well or you are an excellent chief cooker,,.or you are a good cooker. and I've been chat some Vietnamese when i ask "what country you are living for" he reply "sleep Vietnam",,.. then i laughed "sorry for that" and sadly he blocked me😂😅 and i chat another Vietnamese i ask "are you still there" then she said "I'm bed🤔 from bathroom",,..then i search for Vietnamese teaching schools,..and I've noticed that some Vietnamese are stick with their original language for speaking and teaching,,..not like here in Philippines hayys teacher are speaking English thats why some of student can understand English and speak well and i also agree some Filipino people can't use fluent in English but can only understand English.
@QuyenPhan-yr8qi4 жыл бұрын
I think your English is not much different though. It’s actually hard to understand what you said. AND the grammar of “you are an excellent cook” is correct. If you look up in any dictionary, you’ll know the word “cook” is also a noun and its meaning is a person who prepares and cooks food. Last but not least, we all have bad and good teachers everywhere, not just in Vietnam.
@cutetiktokers29604 жыл бұрын
@@QuyenPhan-yr8qi yeah,,..i agree that not only in Vietnam, that some people cannot use and explain exactly of what they wanted to say , and yeah there are some people can't explain fluent, even in chat and it makes you mess to understand cuz their answer is far from what you've ask.,,..

What does la mean? Like when they say it after a sentence?
@luongnguyen97594 жыл бұрын
if la without any "marks" like "là" then they just say it before the word like a meme like "le meme" but if you're talking about the example I talked about earlier, then they say it before a noun. It's the equivelant of "is" in English. I'm Vietnamese :)
@somsom5854 жыл бұрын
