That's awesome! I tried seeing it when I was in NYC, but I'm a chicken so I stayed inside the car and could only barely see the station wall that said "CITY HALL"... thought that was pretty cool though.

take the 6 train, the "south ferry" as it heads to brooklyn bridge city hall. at the "last stop" it will ask everyone to leave the train. a few people stay on. stay on. the train will loop around the city hall station and screech as it does. the station was closed because of the low numbers of riders. also, they extended the cars on the subway trains which prohibited the train from passing the loop in a timely matter, thus the screeching sound. be careful though, as this is possibly a ticketable offense. so after you pass the loop, pretend to be sleeping 'til the next stop. that way, if you pretend to be sleeping, you can have excuse to get out of a possible ticket. www.villagevoice.com/news/is-it-legal-to-ride-the-6-train-through-the-abandoned-city-hall-station-6674027

+Jacob Singer I think u need 2 get off on Brooklyn bring last cart & jump on the tracks as soon as the train leaves & run there. The 6 train comes every 17 minutes so it gives u time 2 get there

Hmmm - Duke Nukem Manhattan Project makes one think that the city hall station goes on for miles, including abandoned trains and tracks lying around as well. Oh, well... Thanks for the glimpse.

Good point and good question. From what I've read, it was abandoned because there wasn't enough demand for it at this station. Also, they (MTA) lengthened the number of trains. If you ride the train as it makes the loop around the City Hall subway station, you will hear loud scraping as the train scrapes against something. The train even slows down, sometimes stopping, I'm guessing for the same reason. I wrote a novel about the secret history of the NYC subway system at: www.TheRailsNYC.com

Hi. I think that's your best bet, to ride in between the trains and when it stops, jump onto the platform. Then, explore and walk back along the pathway that is adjacent to the tunnel, the one used by maintenance workers.
