I don't look TOO much into the ranking system for DbD. I'm highest survivor rank and if you played against me and the boys you'd say "this team is extremely average or below average". The ranking system IMO is just a way to get people's dopamine hits

I have never played an online multiplayer game that gave the player absolutely nothing to tell how well they are performing over time or against other players. I know a lot of people don't care either way but I would like some stats at the very least.
