Surprisingly, neither Maria or I have ever eaten at Kalika Bar and Restaurant, though it is quite famous for its tasty lunch, which a couple of our viewers have recommended
Kalika Bar & Restaurant is located just off St Joaquim Road in Borda, Margao. Turn right at the crossing before Bolshe Circle and you will see Kalika Bar on the left

Kalika may look small from the downstairs seating visible from the road, but it is huge, with no less than three large halls on the first floor. This amount of seating should tell you how popular Kalika is with Margaocars
Excited to see mutton in the Goan specials on the menu. Today we’ll try the mutton sukka, a dish we both love. And with that the fish thali, a must at lunch time in Kalika.
Our food came really fast after ordering. That’s how well Kalika manages the huge lunch crowd
We cannot tell you’ll enough how delicious the mutton sukha was. Best quality of meat also we’ve had so far. No wonder Kalika has become so big.
Kalika's chonak fish thali has: fish curry, squid masala, brinjal bhaji, kismur, rice, chonak, pickle and sol codi. The squid was very nice and the curry was superb. They made the fish curry with teflam. I was just blown away by how good the fish curry was. Absolute home taste. Even the sol codi was really tasty.
We really loved this place. Just superb food. We are also going to become regulars at Kalika now.
We got a pleasant surprise when we bumped into some fans of our channel on their way out after lunch at Kalika.

Quite a traditional simple fish thaali..... Fast service....Limbu soda is nice... I don't think mutton and chicken dishes are that great....Mutton Xacuti at kalika Restaurant is good. (Opp multipurpose college).

They have a original resturant opp govt polytechnic at borda. Their Chicken xacuti reminded me of my school days cook who used to prepare the same way. Now I would suggest there is one food joint opp royal foods in margao..behind borkars..where one can experience on of the finest chicken chilly..try it

I guess this restaurant is good for a good lunch. For me, it is important that the place have an ambience that is soothing and pleasurable, and preferably away from the street in a peaceful environment. That's me, for others, it really does not matter!. And sometimes when the food blows you away, you could excuse the limited decor. I guess you could say that is the case here.
