Only way you lose is if you go into this hoping to make big bank immediately. Silver price goes lower and higher. Only lose if you sell at lower price. Better off hanging on as price goes up and down and if it scares you that much wait to price comes back to say least what you paid and sell

I actually did really well with the silver market. 5 years ago, I was 12 years old and I started buying silver coins and bullion with birthday money or Christmas money etc. At this time, silver was hanging right around $16-18 an ounce. Then the pandemic hit and prices went crazy. I sold most of my bullion and some junk silver (I kept all my Morgans and a few really nice ones) at $28 an ounce and I made around $1,000 in profits, which was huge for a 14 year old. I managed to buy my first car when I was just 14 years old. I’m going to be a senior in high school and I still drive that car. I still think I traded 4 pounds of metal for 2,600 pounds of a different metal. I’m still growing my stack, and obviously I have a job now, so it’s a little easier. I just convert 10% of my paycheck into silver. Anyway, that’s my story. Thanks for reading, and have a nice day 😀

I disagree about the dollar. I think the dollar and the petrodollar will fall within the next 3 or 4 years. Countries have already traded the Yuan for oil, rather than the dollar. That's scary! Things are different than today than in the past. Our government is no longer respected around the world and China is slowly taking over the world economy. The dollar will fall, unless our government does something about it. That's why I stack generic rounds. It's the lowest cost silver and can be used for bartering or exchanging items.

exactly, I'd say the thing to always buy is numismatic silver and gold as they tend to go up in value and typically stay there sure if there is desire for fiat during recessions which can drive the value down temporarily. @@customer9845 I agree that was when I bought most of mine now everything is so expensive it only makes sense to buy numismatic graded coins as those will most likely hold their value even in a down market (although some will decline ever so slightly). I started buying silver at $7 an ounce then stopped at around $13 an ounce. I only had a small amount of gold as I thought $500 an ounce was kind of pricey when I started buying then when it shot up to $1000 I felt dumb for not buying. I still think gold is slightly undervalued right now. Same with Silver.

I purchase silver every month as a force savings for me. If it wasn't for silver and gold I would not have accumulated the true savings that i have today. I sleep better at night knowing if I need cash for an emergency, I can sell some silver or gold to get that cash. It will always be there for me. I have made a fortune on purchasing slabbed silver US silver coinage. I will buy morgan and peace dollars at about $30-$42 per coin in a slab and with a grade. I am secured on every level. Plus, I have zero counterfeits, and I possess American silver coinage that by itself carries a collector's value, and in another security, safeguard is that I can hand anyone a slabbed morgan that states years, mint, grade and every detail. Point being is that your random bars, rounds, and eagles are not accepted because of the huge counterfeiting. my system has had zero counterfeits at over 5000 ounces.

Cost me 20% more than it should have. Live and learn. I guess it beats stuffing a mattress with paper, but not by much. My IRA is worth less than what I put into it. Gains never seem to make up for losses. Considering inflation it’s worth FAR LESS. Work 40 years and have little to show for it.

The SHTF scenario seems far-fetched, both in actual probability of happening, and in anybody's predictions about how to trade and survive. The average price I paid for my stack is about $13/oz. Volatility is the only true constant for silver. I sold a little in 2011 but didn't really make serious money and rode it back down. Hopefully, I learned my lesson this time! I think I'd sell about half of my silver at ~$100, and from there plan on buying it back at $50, or selling the rest of it at ~$250.
