I thought for the longest time I would never purchase raw sovereign silver again with all the fakes and copying flooding our markets, but now I’m finding myself buying raw vintage silver bars with serial numbers and dated vintage rounds and now looking at vintage art silver bars. In all the years of collecting I have never ran into these problems that some are having with fakes, knock on wood, but would love to hear more on vintage silver my new obsession.

If you notice, the majority of buyers and sellers are older folks. Today, the hobby is crypto. Bigger upside with the majority of the population. I stopped buying silver and have been in crypto for 4 years. Its funner, dont have lug anything around other than my phone and a bank account

People who value Silver in Dollars are crazy. Paper can not be compared with Rare material that has limited amounts and that has been a money since dawn of time.

So much of the retail silver trade is fear based. It tracks pretty similarly to gun sales. People buying retail silver are largely working class white males, the same people who now that Trump has won feel like they don’t have anything to fear anymore. Hence no one is buying.

You pay a premium to buy silver using fiat currency to protect your wealth in hopes of selling silver in exchange for that same despicable fiat currency, often times selling below spot. All the while the fiat currency has devalued. You might as well buy new cars in hopes of selling them for more in the future. I have yet to see a video where anyone says now's not a time to buy silver. Price going up = time to buy. Price going down = time to buy.

The buyer loses on both ends, they buy at over spot and sell at under spot. I buy silver coins as a hobby , not an investment.

I have a sigma pro to cover my a$$. I test every coin I buy. So far buying on ebay and from others I haven't gotten any fakes. These machines are not cheap, if the shtf fakes will be everywhere , you need a sure way to test the metal.

A YEAR LATER I SEEN A HUNTING CLUB LISTING THAT SAID SILVER PLATED AND WAS LESS EXSPENSIVE. I NOTICED IN THE PICTURE THAT THE BACK OF THE SILVER PLATED HUNTING CLUB ROUNDS THAT THEY DID NOT SAY .999 FINE SILVER. SO I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THE PLATED ONES DO NOT SAY .999 SILVER AND ONLY WEIGH ABOUT 3/4 OF AN OUNCE. I HAD REMEMBERED ASKING THE GUY AT THE LOCAL COIN SHOP WHY THOSE 2 DID NOT SAY THAT. HE ASSURED ME THEY CHECK EVERYTHING AND WERE REAL. I KNEW EVERYTHING FROM MY COLLECTION CAME FROM EBAY EXCEPT 2. I CHECKED MY COLLECTION AND FOUND 2 WITHOUT THE .999 SILVER. I WENT THROUGH EBAY PURCHASE HISTORY AND VERIFIED EVERY OTHER HUNTING CLUB I HAD THAT WERE LEGITIMATE & REAL ALL CAME FROM EBAY. THE TWO FAKE WERE PLATED ONES WERE SOLD TO MY FROM THAT LOCAL SHOP. SO EVERYONE REALLY NEEDS TO CHECK ALL COINS AND BULLION NO MATTER WHERE YOU BUY IT. KNOWING WHAT TO LOOK FOR REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE, AND EBAY KEEPS YOUR PURCHASE HISTORY AND WILL MAKE THINGS RIGHT IF YOU CAN CATCH IT. AS FAR AS LOCAL COIN SHOP GOES THEY GIVE YOU A RECIPT, BUT JUST WRITE DOWN 5 ROUNDS NOT WHAT ROUNDS YOU BOUGHT. If someone trys to sell fake coins to my LCS, they keep them. If you protest, they will call the police. I made my last visit when I saw this happen. I wonder what they do with them?

Yet all are asking for $2 over spot to buy silver when while wholesale is buying way back of spot. The actual price for retail stays the same with premium yet shops buy back of the wholesale (to be safe so they can make money on sellers) or best case put it in the case and make the full spread. LCS and online retailers are making a fortune right now because they can buy back of wholesale and sell at premium over spot.

I think it's because we have a new president and people aren't worried about the future as they were with the previous administration.
