Don't judge him by this song. The man has a vast repertoire. Roxy Music, guys! He was the driving force behind that band. Totally different style of music from this one. Some of the best songs you'll ever hear. "Avalon", "More Than This", "Slave To Love", "Out Of The Blue" and so many more. "Love Is The Drug" has been used in countless movies and shows.

Roxy Music shifted their style a bit with every album and Ferry developed his vocal style too. This is typical of his vocal style at this time. From Siren to Manifesto to Flesh And Blood To Avalon you'll find the biggest shifts.

Man I'm so happy for the time I was born in, 70s and 80s music was just magical, I love this dude. I remember the first time I heard his song at a exotic dress shop in Brooklyn and this beautiful African baldheaded woman wearing a long black lace dress maybe resembling from the early 1900s was the owner and this song called Boys and Girls came on. I'd never heard anything so beautiful before in my life,,if you haven't already..lol

Okay. I am just going to tell you that Bryan Ferry has the most silk, smooth, awesome as hell voice ever. I waited over 35 years to see him live and finally got my chance in 2019. He puts on a hell of a show because he is a full on band experience. Do more! He does THE greatest version of "All Along The Watchtower" EVER!!!!! (kind of puts Hendrix to shame).

Bryan Ferry was the frontman for Roxy Music in the 70s and 80s-one of the most influential glam/art rock bands of the time. Deep dive. As a starting point, I recommend "Love Is the Drug" and "More Than This" and "The Space Between Us" ..... and then go from there.

This song was a retake on Let's Work Together. John Wetton (went on to join Asia and King Crimson) on bass. The girl is Jerry Hall who was his girlfriend at the time. Probably his best song was Avalon. This was a rock'n'roll through back, Avalon is more a romantic experience than a song. Check it out. It'll make your play lists without a doubt.

You gotta hear his stuff from the 80s to get an idea of who the real Bryan Ferry is, both his later solo stuff and with his band Roxy Music. The album Avalon is a masterpiece and is much more representative of the "crooner" label that was placed on him, specifically the title track, Avalon and the song More Than This. Give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

X has been one of my top five bands for the last 40-plus years. They were without a doubt the best band to come out of the punk music scene in LA in the 1970s. I would suggest listening to the official video of this particular X song, I'm usually not a fan of official videos but in this case I think it's the best version.
