Indian nationalism is not like European nationalism The West doesn’t get this

A few decades ago, when globalisation theories like ‘the Golden Arches theory’ and ‘the world is flat’ were fashionable, S. Gurumurthy, nationalist ideologue, journalist, magazine editor, and chartered accountant, argued differently. He saw that national culture and its idiosyncrasies could not be forcefully wiped out by the power of trade and finance especially since globalisation does not only have winners, it also has people who lose. Today when economic nationalism, supply chain resilience and guardrailing critical technologies is making headlines, Gurumurthy’s ideas seem to have won the debate. His role as the chairman of India’s most important nationalist think tank the Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF) gives him an advisory role to the Narendra Modi government. In this conversation with Hindol Sengupta, Gurumurthy discusses,
- why VIF has published a monumental set of volumes relooking at the history of ancient India and why this is relevant to India’s understanding of itself today,

❤️❤️🌟🌟🌟 Britishers were less than 0.1% in India but ruled for 200 yrs. India has 22% Upper caste. Why do we have to beg Muslims & Dalits to vote for a particular party to make India's future bright? We have many examples of countries running successfully without democracy & has quenched public revolt. Eg China, Russia, Korea, Bhutan, Pakistan, Iran, etc etc. All it needs is a little bit of courage. Already media, film, buisness, etc is mostly us.

You think North Korea, Iran, Pakistan, China as good examples of governance and human rights?😂😂. Yesterday Iran arrested a load of women, tazered them because their Burkas were not the exact length specified by the state, for wearing coloured Burkhas, for not wearing hijab, they will go to prison for that. North Korea…doesn’t allow any deviation from the governments ideology and people will be imprisoned for not having the correct photo of the leader hanging in their house, they can’t even choose their own hair styles! Please do more research about the living conditions of these countries before saying nonsense.

It is indeed a sad day when VIF, a very esteemed organization started by the Sangh, has hired Hindol Sengupta to do its interviews(and probably even more). And it is that much worse when Mr. S. Gurumurthy is giving interviews to this dubious (to say the least), so called writer. Shame!

yaar waise to kehete rehete ho ki west country ko follow mat kro, aur jab bharat ke logo ko kuch samjheney ki baat aati hai to sab ENGLISH mein hi chalu ho jaate ho. Hindi mein hi kra kro naa takhi jyada se hyada logo tak sahi sahi baat phunche.
