The Chinese influence in the architecture is the flat roofs and capiz windows. Those types of windows and roofs is also found in colonial buildings throughout maritime South East Asia. It was mainly the Filipino-Chinese that were made to build many of the colonial houses during the colonization era. There is Filipino influence as well. Some say the Bahay bato style is the Spanish rendition to the Bahay Kubo (Native Filipino hut/stilt houses). The architecture looks mainly Spanish but if you visit South American colonial houses and those in Spain, the ones in the Philippines has a more Asian and unique approach. They just look European because of the use of stone and they used European elements but some Bahay bato have less of that and is more wooden. Often the wealthy mestizo back in the day wanted to appear more rich by importing European materials while the middle class were more keen in using locally sourced materials in their houses. The poor/most Filipinos at the time lived in traditional wooden huts (Bahay Kubo).

We could've more of this colonial spanish era houses if only it's preserved, but due lots of calamities some of it didn't survive. Manila has lots of it too, but didn't survive during the bombings in World War, the few one left was the one in Intramuros. There is also more of this colonial houses, which are collected & gathered from all over the country and built in a certain place in Bataan province, it's called "Las Casas Filipinas".

Despite popular beliefs, there are still other heritage towns around the country besides Vigan. Though not as well developed but there are Taal, Silay, Iloilo, Batanes (though a bit different in architecture), Jimenez, Liliw etc...if you only know where to look.

I was in Vigan about 5 years ago for 2 days. Yes, it's a very chill place but the Spanish Colonial influence is very underwhelming compared to so many places in the Americas. I saw your videos from Antigua, Guatemala so I'm sure you would agree.

Juan Luna, the painter, and Antonio Luna, the general, were brothers and part of the illustrado (educated) elite. If you have the time when you go back to Manila, visit the National Museum of Fine Arts and see the Luna masterpiece, the Spoliarium. As well as his studies for The Battle of Lepanto, which is still in Spain.

If you are interested in Spanish Colonial bldgs., visit the "Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar" in Bataan. One commentator just mentioned it below. These private homes & bldgs were uprooted from their original towns & cities where it was located & was transplanted to this reserved park one bldg. at a time, piece by piece for preservation. The beautiful old Spanish Colonial preserved homes were similar to what you see in Puerto Rico or Honduras.
