This puts _“The Meme Games 2022”_ into a whole new perspective, now. They knew SMG4’s redesign would change things drastically for the series, so they had to come up with a new name & format for “WOTFI” in order to make it work.

Remember how we all thought that SMG stands for Super Mario Glitchy? I do like the redesigns of SMG4, Bob and Boopkins, it is for the best of avoidinflg the DMCA, but I am going to miss the old designs. There is always the old videos before WAY before the Lawsuit Arc.

I’m glad you like the new designs. I’m a fan of them also, although it’ll definitely take a while to get used to. I’ve seen a lot of people criticizing the redesigns and saying things like “why didn’t they wait till Nintendo threatened to sue them just like they did with SML?”, so it’s good to know that your not part of the bunch

This is probably my new favorite WOTFI. The Arc was simple enough (but I hope we get a little less in the future), the challenges were hilarious, the rap was beautiful, and the ending was interesting (I saw it coming, but it was still a pleasant enough surprise)

One can only speculate the road ahead for 4 and the gang. Will we one day have to say goodbye to this version of the Mushroom Kingdom once they find a sneaky way to legally alter it into their own thing? Only time will tell...I'll probably still watch that though, it's the only show I've been able to anchor myself to since FIM ended. I think it's because Spike and the Garo's are much smaller characters than compared to Mario and Luigi that they are an easier target for a DMCA also since Spikes and garos do not have that much of a unique personality to differ from meaning they dont have much grounds for parody. Mario and Luigi however are much larger characters and harder to cover for a DMCA along with their personalilties being so seperated from the original designs.

@@joaks1969 Parody argument only goes as far as fair use, and making Mario and Luigi the main characters of your show certainly isn't fair use. Take shows like family guy, SNL and robot chicken, they have skits about Mario as well as pretty much everything else, however it's fair use since Mario isn't their entire branding. Plus you got it backwards, the bigger the Nintendo character SMG4 uses, the bigger target he has on his back.

Bro, how could you have possibly liked Boopkin’s first redesign? It was bland as hell, it just showed that Luke and Kevin were lazy and wanted profit, but only ever bothered to change it after they realized how much hate they were getting over it.
