Keep in mind, he is 15 to 16 at most during this arc. And he is out here doing what most grown adults with powers aren't willing to do. Risking his life to the bitter end in hopes that one day, everyone can feel safe and smile once more. I think a quote from spiderman 2 says it best "he's just a kid." It's tragic to see this, but you have to see it unfold. It's portrayed painfully well in the manga, the anime, and it sure as hell is portrayed well in this song! Rock on Divide!

This is my favorite!! It perfectly describes Deku's desire, (more like need), to protect those around him, which resulted to him fighting off villains alone. What he didn't realise is that he needed his friends beside him and as the saying goes, "Together we are stronger; together we are unbroken; together we can do anything." This song has inspired me like nothing before. The emotion rolling off every lyric and visual. The instrumental was METAL. Gave me chills! So inspiring, you just gained another subscriber and you best believe I'm rocking out to all your videos. Now then! While listening to this song on repeat, I give you the scene it brought me. A story, from Deku's perspective and with a different take. What if his friends had failed to take him home? Enjoy. I failed to make it short. It's raining again. Why is it always raining? Deku looked up at the drooping sky with matching eyes. Dull. It’d been three days since Kacchan, Ochaco and the others had tried to take him back to UA… He’d broken through Todoroki’s ice that day, using Fa Jin, Black Whip, and One For All at 100% to slingshot himself away from his friends. He’d released another smokescreen before he hit the clouds, pushing himself to the limit. They chased him down for hours, the only thing sustaining Deku's escape was the thought of All For One using his friends against him. The broken hero flew through four cities before he finally lost them, Bakugo being the hardest to shake off. Deku gave the last of his energy avoiding the people he cared for the most. His chest ached at the memory, but he pushed it away. He couldn't put them in any more danger. It was fine. He would be fine. He pushed away the voices of the other users as they tried to console him, give him advice. He’d gotten good at tuning them out. A broken skyline that matched the weather was laid before him. Shadows cascading in the night over the rubble and fallen buildings. Deku slowly stood on shaky legs. When was the last time he’d eaten again? Cold droplets seeped through his costume, chilling his bones. He’d stayed here too long. Time to move. A sudden stabbing in his head. He launched off the skyscraper as something the size of a missile barreled into the concrete behind him. A villain? He pulled up his cowl, power surging through his veins as he called upon One For All. "Ha! You're the shrimp I have to bring in?” A voice bellowed from the new gaping hole in the building. Deku righted himself in the air, whipping to face the threat, air electrified by his power. Who is he? Deku snapped out with the strands of Black Whip, propelling himself far above the impact. A massive figure emerged from the rubble, grinning wildly and dripping with rainwater. The ragged vigilante started at the face. A monster of a villain, thick mane of hair, bulging muscles, powerful leather wings and a rattling scorpion tail. A stab in Deku’s head. Run. He turned. Despite rivaling Muscular in size, Manticore launched himself at Deku with incredible speed, flinging droplets in his wake. Deku released Float, free falling and releasing a thick Smokescreen, disorienting the villain. Releasing all this smoke in such a poor state made Deku’s skin burn with intensity. The sixth reminded him that he was pushing too hard. Deku ignored him. Purple fog choked the air as Manticore gave a roar of laughter. “Trying to hide, little rodent?” A stab. Deku dodged with a grunt as a scorpion tail whipped out at his face, and a blustery gale cleared the fog with one mighty wing beat. The villain grinned at him. Lightning lit the contours of his face. Manticore, one of the convicts released from Tartarus. Brought in by a team of heroes a few years ago. His name was Akuma Bushida, his quirk was the same as his nickname, with manticore-like abilities. This included the strength of a lion, the speed and venomous tail of a scorpion, and powerful dragon wings. How did he get this way….? No. What information did he have on Shigaraki and All For One. He felt weak, his body drained without rest. His vision blurred, he shook his head vigorously. Heavy Black Whip threads lashed out between two buildings. Deku called on Fa Jin to combine for a slingshot kick. He strained the black strands, pumping his legs. Fa Jin 25%. One For All 45%. Thirty feet. Release. He couldn’t feel his legs. FOCUS. The villain charged. Angle shift. Fifteen feet. Perfect. “Where.” Deku shot past Manticore, dodging the hand reaching for his face, and gripping the scorpion tail. “Is.” Gathering all his strength, Deku flung Manticore hard into the nearest building with a roar. “ALL FOR ONE,” He snarled, rocketing after the villain as the building crumbled. Rubble exploded with the fall of the structure, clouds of debris quickly dissipated in the rain. Already panting, staggering in the air, Deku recalled any information he had on the villain. He was defeated after being trapped and heavily tranquilized, taken down by two top notch heroes. Other weaknesses… Deku noticed his left wing slightly lagged. A past injury? He was obviously a reckless fighter. Using his size against him would work. Watch for his venom. Easy. Manticore burst from the remains of the building with a roar, stretching his wings to their full span and with one stroke blasting into the air. His trajectory changed, his eyes calculating. He had a plan. Deku didn’t give him time to execute it, he dove forward, One For All 50%, his legs shivered with power. Thunder roared above. With a war cry, Deku drove his leg towards the villain’s wing. A stab. He couldn't dodge. Something paralyzed his movements. What?? He was suspended in air, and Manticore barrelled into him, driving Deku to the concrete below. His mask was flung off. The stink of the villain’s breath enveloped him before they hit the street far below. Deku felt something in his torso shatter, and blood erupted from his lips. His head throbbed and his vision swam. Deku’s eyes rolled in their sockets, and he fought to stay conscious. He trembled with exhaustion. Move. Please move. He couldn’t. The other users became more clear, trying to rouse him as he slipped away. Manticore was saying something, but his voice was far away. A new face appeared, blurry features coming to focus. Rain pelted Deku’s face. “All For One wants him alive, you bumbling oaf,” the muffled voice of the newcomer growled. She looked like…. An insect? A bee or wasp perhaps. Mrs. Sting… Another escapee. Delicate wings covered by a cloak, and needle-like stingers in her wrists. They could be shot like bullets from her skin… She picked their poison. Static began to fill his vision, and Deku began to struggle against Manticore’s grip in vain. His strength was spent. He tried to reach out with Black Whip, but the strands were limp slugs that shivered at his commands. “He can still move after being stung?” Mrs. Sting said with astonishment, “that's impossible!” It was getting hard to breathe, Deku wheezing with every breath. “Let’s go,” Manticore smirked as he picked up Deku by the arm. Tears prickled in Deku’s eyes and he cried out in pain as his chest flared with pain Don't pass out. DON’T PASS OUT. His heart fell. The reality of the situation. UA…. Ochaco…. Iida…. Kacchan…. What had he done? How could he have pushed them all away?? Mrs. Sting shot another needle stinger into his veins. Tears mixed with rain as he slipped into unconsciousness. He failed. Yeah Izuku would've no doubt been captured if he'd kept on with his vigilantism. I hope I give his character good justice in the way he reacted to the situations, I tried to make sure I didn't write a whole novel haha Thanks for reading!

The lyrics really match to what was happening in season 6 of the series Boku No Hero Academia. And the part of "Voices I know, they tell me I should come home" is really touching, the "voices I know" relates to Deku's classmates and he knows them bc why not and "they tell me I should come home" relates to his classmates trying to get him back into UA and tell him the reasons why they're his friends. As an enormous fan of BNHA, I can say that this song is really good as in a 100% accurate if you relate the lyrics to season 6 of the series.

As someone who has found comfort in deku since the beginning and to see where he is now is something that resonates heavy within myself.
