Who the hell likes muzzle blast at close range of a high or hyper velocity ultra magnum! Sound reduction is a beautiful thing. Shoot more accurate and don't flinch while varmint hunting or extended range time. Being respectful to fellow hunters and competitors on the shooting lanes ! Let's be real the older we get the harder to hear anyway ! Let's see more of them in use! And no tax stamp b.s. ! Just respectful shooting.

@@paullowell3342 because of how hard they are to get, the people who have kept the suppressor industry alive want good suppressors, not just some crap tube of aluminum that they would have to throw away after a few hunting seasons. obviously that's the extreme example, but in Europe they literally use aluminum disposable suppressors.

First you place the firearm on a wood table, insure the optics are securely mounted for this well improve leverage and direct a 250 pound man to seat on it. Second locate the largest adjustable wrench you have in your tool box to remove the device. A method of removing a muzzle device you well not see on the Brownells channel.

just behind the barrel nut, that goes around the thin threaded end of the upper, is the place where empty brass exits. the bottom of the upper grabs that union spot with about a quarter inch contact. connected all the way around except there. thats where it breaks when twisted. upper is toast.

Regarding the statement that "rifle cans" don't need to be taken apart to clean, I have a different view of that. It depends on what calibers you are talking about. 5.56 cans generally never need to be taken apart. Other calibers though it's a much different story. Bigger, or slower, or less pressure cartridges will definitely leave a whole lot more behind and thus cleaning would be a good idea. Do they have to be taken apart? No. They can be cleaned at home but cleaned none the less.

@@VSO_Gun_Channel While I don't have the 'luxury' or experience killing a suppressor having a (non maintained) can could possibly contribute to an 'untimely death'. That said there are a hundred ways not related to any of this that could harm a suppressor. That said if a person has so much junk in the can that when they shake it carbon comes out the ends isn't really a good thing. Over on Sniper's Hide there is a really long thread about cleaning sealed cans, complete with LOTS of photos of cans that definitely needed cleaning up. Once every year or two (depending on the amount of shooting) it certainly won't hurt. For most of us I think the idea of an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure... I weighed and cleaned two of my cans. The 5.56 didn't hardly gain any weight despite having a much larger round count. The 30 cal can, having maybe half the rounds of the 5.56 had 2-3 times (or more) of the carbon build up...Cleaning is not a requirement for anyone, but for me I will invest 10-20 bucks every other year just because I can.

it's too bad that camera sound recording always tries to mediate sound levels and you can't ever hear the true differences but you can get a good idea. If you listen to the suppressed shots, you can still hear everything going but you have to try to extrapolate, the initial impression is something akin to the John Wick terminal walkway scene where suppressed 9mm sounded like unattainable whispers. Although this can isn't that quiet, it's a lot less than one would expect and is very impressive. Thumbs 👍

Curious on what you think about PewScience, since you are also a data nerd. His data has made it super easy for my customers to choose a can.

Just found your content. Solid presentation! What's the weight? Do you have any experience with the YHM Turbo K? If so, how do they compare?

I approached YHM some years ago to do some testing, they wouldn’t agree to the terms of service, no big deal, but that means I can have no opinion about their product because I have not tested it myself.

Do they make one for 12g? They tend to bring the noise and I'd like to be able to use it and not have tinnitis afterwards

Yes you’ve got to buy the nomad-30 keymo adapter for the mod-1. I emailed Witt Machine and asked them the same question and that’s what they told me.
