I started as a Vigor content creator as well. And Im gratefull for all the people that showed up and liked my content and are still around to this day - but I saw what Bohemia did to the game and the community about 2 years ago. Imho Vigor was just a test project for them and a small internal project that they could let new developers and designers work on for a bit. Also it was their first try for a free2play game on a console. It was very controlled because it was just on xbox and for sure it was a small investmend for them because microsoft payed them something for the exclusive rights. On top of that it was their first unreal engine project. Also an Indicator for me that vigor was never ment to be a "big" IP for them: how often people and the whole team was changing. Also it seemed that the team was always kept very small. The game had so mutch potential - But Bohemia did nothing. Also they never released on pc - why? because they knew that they would need an good anti cheat solution and the cost and the fees of that would be to expensive for them. All in all I had a great time with the game and its very sad to see what they made out of this great concept. Its a shame that vigor never grew up to its potential. And tbh I salute you my man that you where here all the time and putting out content for it and the (small) community. You have a great future ahead of you, because you are a great guy and an awesome content creator. really looking forward to your next stuff. Keep it up!

The longevity of this game is very very short... unless you're interested in just doing the killing. This game was the most enjoyable for me when I was brand new. Surviving was paramount. Encounters were intense. Death felt like a punishment. Grinding to build my shelter was a fun experience and the more I played the* more comfortable I got with the gun play. It took me 1200 encounters roughly to finish out my shelter and get to a 1.0 KPE. After that... the game was done. What else do I have to play for? Sure I grinded KPE and those leaderboards because there wasn't a game that I could play to get that 'high risk, high reward' gameplay in a hard core looter shooter. That feeling unfortunately has never returned. On a side note - ranking the community a 9/10 would be a 10/10 if it weren't for certain dinguses (not the kind we love). You know who you are. YUH DINGUS!
@simonsays2685 Жыл бұрын
It would take new players thousands of encounters to finish the shelter now, less loot and more sweats out hunting for kills.

@Capt_4wesome Жыл бұрын
@@Xackory what? lol All I was trying to say was I enjoyed the hard core survival looter shooter. Once you’re done with the shelter the only thing left to do is grind kills and Vigor is anything but a serious shooter. The last thing I want to do is run around like a chicken with its head cut off and wait until my opponent runs out of ammo to consider myself “good” at a game.
@Xackory Жыл бұрын
@@Capt_4wesome because the whole point is to survive, not sure what else you think a extract game is about. Same with tarkov, your main objective is surviving weather that’s killing or looting. Shelter is just to make you more equipped.
@Capt_4wesome Жыл бұрын
@@Xackory if the only objective was to survive you could go into a map, lay in a bush and then exfil. Surviving is paramount, so don’t get me wrong, but the objective is not to just survive. Hence why the game isn’t just listed a survival game. Vigors objective is the shelter. Once that’s done what do you have? This specific video is for Vigor. Vigor’s longevity is mediocre. My understanding of an extracting game isn’t flawed lol

I just got into this game and after Activision screwed up DMZ and Tarkov being PC only, this is a solid fun game. I try to avoid people whenever I can but have been in several fights. I felt like I actually earned those kills as I had what felt like a pea shooter but still won in some games.

I really feel, when this guy mentions growing your shelter is the only real objective to the game. That this is why so many people farm the crap out of others in encounters. Once people have their shelter built up the only other thing to do is gain xp for the battle pass. Unfortunately you don't get much xp from shootout or elimination, especially in direct comparison of kills. You can still get your weapon parts, plans, consumables so on from the crates in elimination or shootout, but they aren't going to give you enough xp to level up your battle pass; not like encounters anyway. It's gotten so bad for me personally I've played almost 3,000 encounters and I'm still trying to build my shelter. Before you laugh at that, I'm disabled and have nerve damage in my entire right arm. So my main focus has been on nothing but trying to survive. I've not seen a very "warm and welcoming" community. I get mean messages and farmed all the time, even tried waving and never carrying in a gun. When I first started playing people use to actually not kill you if you waved at them. Due to all the farming though no one seems to trust each other so every one just sort of gets hunted. I think they should do something about the xp; or I'll keep listening. Maybe this guy has an idea for a new game mode.

Your post broke my heart. I'll make more of an effort to be nicer in the outlands, but I've gotten killed trying to be nice too.
@JinksDeJenn Жыл бұрын
@KingDanny9 I already know, lol. I'm not sure there's much the players can do. I really think the devs need to fix the xp measure. The devs need to realize that the hard-core players are not the only player base to pander to. Honestly, most people who are going to play are going to be mid line players and not try hards. I understand wanting to appeal to the try hards to keep them on the platform, but there has to be balance. You don't want to chase off all your moderate players, as in the case with any game I've played, tend to be the actual majority. Over time, the moderate player gets overwhelmed and just leaves the platform. By the time the try hards have taken over the platform, they've become the majority, that's true enough. The thing is, at that point, the community has shrunk so much that they don't really have anyone to play against or compete with. For Vigor, they depend on those micro transactions. They will not be able to sustain the game on the limited microtransactions from a small group of try hards. In all, it's all the same. It becomes hard to rationalize keeping the servers up as the lobbies become deserted. I've seen this happen on multiple platforms over time, and it just keeps repeating itself. Even in non micro transaction games, devs have decided not to update the game, thus fixing glitches that get exploited by try hards.

I'm new to your channel but agree with everything you just said. A part of me wonders if they can still save Vigor. I also play tarkov occasionally, as well as dmz. The players are there for the taking, if devs would just listen. On the tarkov side, people are always asking for console, and BSG says it will never happen. (They are never 100% honest though. ) On the DMZ side, people are begging for an economy to be added along with some sort of hideout to work on. Vigor has most of that. They have console (need cross-platform) , and I'm sure they could work out some sort of economy / trader system fairly easy. The trader system could also lead to better shelter/crafting systems. I think by doing this, they could draw in a fairly large new player base. Or I may be totally wrong, and its already too late. The base is there to build something great.

Yes, in my opinion graphically and the concept of what the story is is better than the other bohemia games (it is my concept without offending those who like other games) Do they really not have enough financial resources to invest in the game? ? I'm one who said "shots in jumping, adrenaline etc is too much CoD" but now many are switching to that. 🤷♂️ Was I wrong? I REALLY tried to get into this game when I first got an Xbox one since before it I didn't have any games for next gen keep in mind apex legends keep in mind that there were no other big free2play fps at the time pubg still costed money and apex was in a very bad state and still don't enjoy it now. Also didn't have gamepass cuz I didn't have the money. Vigor at first had abunch of potential crafting,resources,customization,weapons all there. The biggest problem for me is that Vigor has no idea what it wants to be let me explain it to make more sense. Vigor has nothing to keep the player engage it has pvp but nothing comes from that pvp besides loot nothing feeling very accomplish to show, it wants you to collect materials to build up and craft but if dead you lose everything, you gain contact with someone before the storm but everyone wants to kill each other, emotes but no way to interact eith others with em,you have loadouts but can instantly lose them, you have a giant map to explore with only 1 thing to do to progress effectively. There needs to be some kind of engagement for the player to get further in the game and keep playing and needs to find that fun loop. The game pushes you in with abunch of random things you have no idea where to have fun at and feels like a chore to do then an actual game. Unlike Vigor many fps and survival games know what they are to be fun like how halo is an millitary arena shooter and minecraft is an sandbox survival game of anything creative. Vigor is just grinding loot from players for some daily goal. Even destiny 2 the new Comer can have fun doing missions and the campaign even if they just joined in because of the interesting and fun characters,seasons,pvp, and abilities to master and actually have fun with friends in an open lobby with everyone compare to Vigor where it's a private lobby with nothing to do but chores. There's no climax in fun,no engagement,singular fun loop that does not last,and no interaction. It's very important for a game to have SOME kind of interaction with the player either its an npc,mob,player then just hide or kill. Vigor has this kind of problem as you have enough hide from others or attack them and literally no one is a friend to you it's kinda saddening. Anyway I'm not an expert at all this is just how I felt and the potential was there just not executed well maybe a story/lore or more possibilities of interactions would help maybe take some inspiration from minecraft or rust and have players not just kill but encourage to get along and have fun then just loot that would be a big step up imo to be abit more engaging.

I know I did, going back to resistance 1 on ps3; MAG on ps3 (first console game that went to 128 vs 128; to silence the trolls...yeah it was more like 32 vs 32 times 4 compass points). This is just one of those games, like playing tag with the neighborhood kids, eventually you just stop. Another problem is that the lag compensation is basic and to be generous , underwhelming. As the player base shrinks, it becomes more pronounced.... Your enemies in elimination are 2 Russians, 1 German and 1 Spaniard, and 1 Latin American : Your team is 2 Canadians and 3 united states. The latency is 130ms, up to 150ms....unless you got vets on your team it is going to be a common crate and a 1G xp bump. You will see corner lag, you will see teleporting, you will experience shots failing to register, you Will see your team drop down to 2 of 5 players. Then add in some dinks, who think cheating is ok

So sad that Vigor never came to the master race PC. I wished it so much, because I like the concept when I heard of it first time. I asume it was 2019, when I see a demo of it. Seems that all DEVs have the same problems, compared to other great titels, same mistakes, or deaf to community. Well, still wishing to play Vigor on pc.

Bohemia drops the ball AGAIN. It's just DayZ all over again. Every time they have a game that gets big, its like they freak out and just want everyone to go away. They almost never handle success well. And I can't for the life of me understand why the game isn't on PC. Literally makes 0 sense. The game was made in unreal, it would take 2 months(as long as its not 1 person doing it). I've never got to try Vigor, pc player these days, but I really wanted to, and it was so obvious how much potential it had. When it was announced I thought bohemia hit the holy grail, combining survival shooters (which dayz is one of the best) with Tarkov extraction, and then a base building mechanic so you have somewhere you can chill out. I'd imagined this game before. But like usual, it was too good to be true and bohemia strangled the life out of it.... but idk, maybe bohemia has some crazy logic to this, because DayZ also has an amazing community. Maybe thats what it takes to get a good game community, just getting totally shit on and used by the devs.

I see hell let loose going down hill too. When team 17 bought it I knew the love of the game as the original devs had was gone. To bad because it would of been a instant classic. Hopefully six days in Fallujah will drop soon and play as good as it looks!! Great video cheers 🍻

I stopped playing like year ago. The game had potential, but the devs imo had no idea how to make the game great. The content was too slow and so out of touch what game actually needed. Only update I liked was grenades. That is literally it from 13 seasons…. Thats how bad it is.

Been playing about 4 weeks now. Only problems ive seen that are totally annoying is the fact that pay to win people seam to be almost inpossible to kill, by a free to play. What i mean is for instance point blank range whole clip in the head or point blank rifle in the head of someone oblivious that im right next to them and then they turn and kill me. Seams the game caters to the paid customer unfarely. Also leaving to shelter and entering the encounter with 120 ammo to get to the map with zero ammo in my pocket. This has happened numerous times these past 3 weeks. And dont be thinking i just forgot to put them in loadout because i know better. Why? Because once i notice im standing on the crate about to shoot the lock off and have zero ammo for my gun ,,I RUN MY A$$ OFF to the zone out alive . get back to shelter and guess what my ammo is back in my pocket. Yet when in encounter it wasnt. This is totally wrong considering it messes with your stats. The worst of all is all the cheaters on the game. The developers need to do something about banning such cheaters that ruin the game. Many cheaters have been exposed here on you tube so dont tell me im imagining things. I see it on every other map i play. And ive been on almost 2000 encounters already. Oh and one other thing. They should not have any achievements that can only be completed with teams. Some of us are over 50 and know no one else who plays games. Its totally unfare

I started playing this game two weeks ago, but I first downloaded a year ago and played it for about three days. Now, I find it more fun than when I first tried it. I came back to this game because I was getting bored with the regular games I was playing. I wish this game was more popular. Is this game dying?

I have to say I also started my small KZbin journey playing Vigor. Vigor allowed me to enjoy the streaming industry as a hobby however, it came to a point where the lack of content, copy+paste of garments you can wear and absolutely terrible gameplay mechanics which I know you say have been improved massively, they were still damn irritating. The community were always supportive towards my small channel but the game was a complete let down

I am still upgrading my Shelter so I don't need new upgrade on this side. For me the main purpose of this game is the encounters! So hyped before every match. Agree with the crossplay feature... We should at least be able to link accounts between different platforms (PS to Xbox and vice versa). What happened of I decide to play on the other nextgen console? I will lose everything I farmed? Like you said the game gave already what it had. I just expect small updates and customizations, I hope I am wrong.

When I do say these things to the developers, they always play deaf or delete my comments, because " it is not constructive ". They would need a complete renewal, to sit down and discuss whether they are making a game with heart and soul or making money. Couldn't we have both? Ever since Tencent bought into Bohemia, something hasn't been right. But maybe there was a problem before, but it wasn't so noticeable. I have been here for 4 years. No meaningful progress, just pay for this, pay for that. And the prices are ridiculous. I mean really. It was our favorite game with friends.... maybe we should move on...

Great Video 👍🏽 I was a day 1 on ps4 and was very excited for this game release .. I grinned it for a good while but i lost interest when i had upgraded my hideout and was just going in OP and had no challengers … Should maybe make a new account and come back … i feel it might be the end of the line for a game that had sooo much Potential 😉👍🏽

I'm thinking about starting to play. I very much enjoy DMZ but can't always be near my ps5 so I decided I would try Vigor on the switch for when I can't play DMZ but really want to. We'll see what happens lol.

I had an xbox i traded it for a new gaming pc, and boy i was disappointed when i figure it out it will never release for pc, its a shame that a great game is locked on console only, where it could have its space on pc market to compete with other similar games, it don't even need a crossplay i think the comunity would be stable just like the consoles.

I agree with the video. Vigor is just one of those games that you know you can only play for so long until it dies out. Sad truth. Every time I play I just enjoy the time being.. Just imagine if vigor went viral.. and fixed pretty much everything.. it would honestly go down in the video game hall of fame. vigor is in my top 3 best online games of all time next to battlefield 4 and gta 5. If a dev is somehow seeing this. Please save vigor and make it more legendary and what it should be. If not you guys better make a sequel 😂 because the fact that vigor is in my top 3 next to battlefield and gta 5 should tell you guys something. Just imagine if everyone knew what vigor was. You guys would go down in history. But as for the present game, I don’t think it’s dead yet tho. Lol on Xbox it definitely is but on PlayStation it’s lit like crazy. Like 14,000 active players as of nov 2022.

@Roboninja5000 Жыл бұрын
@potatoad oh yeah we slowed down after we got the house trophies done, I log in for daily rewards like I do on other games now 😄 I added Vigor Facebook and they pretty much say nothing about player feedback and plan on just keeping things about the same so yeah don't take it to serious of a game.
@tiredofinternetculture Жыл бұрын
@Roboninja5000 if you have new gen consoles, just play day Z. It's way more fun. Still fun to loot, build bases etc. Plus there are community servers if you're finding official servers too hard-core. It holds me over not having a PC.

I heard what happened and disappointed they didn't listen to you but treated you that way. This video is spot on. I've been playing and loyal to this game for almost 3 years. I have loved it to the point I neglect other games. The play styles in encounters has changed so much based on the updates and influx of new players from different communities and seasoned players leaving because of being fed up. I've adapted (as a looter) to all the changes. The community has been amazing to me until recently I've encountered new players who have been very toxic. I have the same concerns most seasoned players do but my love for it covers the multitude of sins.. if the community shifts to as toxic as I've seen recently I won't stay and I've always promoted it and spent a lot of money on the game.
