Tilak Naidu was a funny guy.... I was a small girl & he was playing for Mysore Bank, he was smoking cigarette during one of the Inter Bank matches against Canara Bank (very strong team) and I teased him as he was smoking.... He funnily ran to me & tickled me as I was barely 5 years old.😂😂😂😂 Canara Bank had Venky, Joshi, Bharadwaj etc.... Mysore Bank had Tilak, Akhil, Anand Katti etc.

Javagal Srinath was the lone warrior who had to shoulder the Indian Cricket Teams pace attack for a decade with only Venkatesh Prasad as the support. At times we had Ganguly to open with Srinath. It is highly likely that Srinath wanted to conserve energy for the Indian Team rather than play a pointless first class fixture and wear himself. As mentioned this match had no importance and it was the last game of the season..

He’s pretty committed to the game even today he’s a reputed match referee. He was probably over worked up until this point and has nothing left to give as well as it was the end of the season.
