Those who are abusing OBC reseevation its useless to criticise. Today OBC cut off is nearly same as GEN and equal to OBC in all jobs and educational institutions. In around 10 years OBC will merge into GEN. Problem is no creamy layer for SC/ST which is wrong and is being abused rampantly.

There is for sure a need to assess the beneficiaries of reservation. But if say an SC family who has advanced to a good economical level and social level, and they decide to give up, and appear for exam for a UR category. Then, the social discrimination against thema dn their lineage must also stop. The sad part of reservation is the lack of checks and balances. While the families and communitites that actually need it are still marginalised, rich and affluent exploit it to the core. I am pro-reservation. And I am also pro-checks and balances in the system. The balance of favour should lie with the downtrodden, not with the rich pretending to be the downtrodden.

UPSC selection process is in dire need of reform and tweaks. It focusses on rote learning and half an hour interviews. Values and personality traits like positive leadership, integrity, ethics and problem solving skills are not adequately evaluated. The competition and stakes are high in the civil service exam where lakhs of students compete for a few hundred posts which are prestigious and offer challenging positions or roles. Not only in service but after retirement civil servants are given posts at tribunals, commissions and gubernatorial institutions. Even plum private sector profiles especially marquee consultancy firms which are in trend these days are offered to retired officials to leverage their networks within the government. This high pressure scenario forces unscrupulous candidates like Puja khedekar to look for short cuts which manifest in using quotas or reservation.

With all due respect sir, if parent is an IAS officer or if the parent becomes a Group 1 officer before the age of 40 years, they belong to creamy layer by default and cannot avail OBC reservation. In the example you quoted, if the father is an IAS officer, he comes under creamy layer by default and no income manipulation would serve the purpose. I would request you to get your facts correct before commenting on such issues.

Reality in results :- Cutoff of genral income less than 8 lakh is 80.15 Cutoff of obc income less than 8 lakh is 84.85 !! I think reservation should be there. But the quotas should be determined with respect to other aspects not caste. Like The Financial Condition, Linguistic Basis and like these. Which are relevant. As an aspirant, I know the issues faced by many aspirants who are preparing and i am aware that the government are aware about it too. @Genz_Engineer who told you that Ambedkar made the reservation? Most of the reservation has been given after Ambedkar died. 27%+10% =37%. Even before Ambedkar there was 100% reservation for upper caste you forget that.

India is degrading slowly internally due to such ineffective system. Next generation might not be so toleratant of this injustice. thats when you see rise rebellion against system. Nation is fighting internally on pitty issues like state politics, language politics, south and north divide, reservations. Belief in India is no longer as strong as it used to before 10-20 years

Yes. OBC cutoffs are far higher than EWS caste quota. EWS caste quota is comparable to SC/ST.
