We traveled the Baltic on the Viking Star in 2015 in Suite 5001 (directly above the suite in this video). He talked about the details but left out, what I think, are several very important ones. In the Explorer suites you get unlimited laundry/dry cleaning and shoe cleaning/polishing. And the real biggie - the floor in the bathroom is heated (as are the towel bars). Also you get three dinners in Manfredi's Italian specialty restaurant that you can book 90 days ahead of time. Another interesting feature of Viking (at least this was true at the time of our sailing and we will find out again if it is still true in January on our Australian cruise on the Orion) - you can bring your own bottle of wine to dinner and they will serve it, no additional fees. In spite of all the wonderful things about the explorer suites, what makes Viking special are their people. Everyone was extremely friendly, courteous and helpful - regardless of position. My wife and I cannot say enough nice things about the crew - and this also pertains to the ground portions before and/or after the cruise.

We are scheduled to have this suite next yr on our med cruise. How big is the veranda ? Does it cover 1/2 of the front of the ship? We did the river cruise a few yrs ago. Very nice but nothing like this . Do you think it comes to 1000 sq ft?
@dougball3283 жыл бұрын
@@vincenapoletano2721 The veranda is actually limited to the side of the ship. The portion that runs across the bow in front of the windows is not accessible. Bummer, I know. Having said that, the portion of the veranda you can use accommodates two chaise lounges and a table with four chairs for dining. I think the smaller Explorer suites at the stern of the ship have verandas that wrap around. Enjoy your cruise !

Your room looks lovely and spacious! That bathroom in particular is huge. The balcony is the best bit :) takes me back to when I went on a cruise a few years ago. I loved it!

Now that looks like luxury! I've never been on a cruise where I wasn't stuffed in a cramped room. Maybe some day I'll get one like this!

I ❤️ the decor of Viking ships … simple, understated, elegant without a whiff of garishness. Of course, being a Swedish American 🇸🇪 , I’m probably biased to that decor because that how my home is furnished

Yes, it's my favorite design among ships. Cheers.

I love the suite but I don’t like the balcony looking over onto the deck below. I would much prefer it looking directly out to sea.

I have always been interested in these cruises! What is your overall experience? The rooms look really nice great video

The Journey Thanks for the nice comments. I think cruising is a fine hassle free way get to travel to many different destinations in an efficient manner with all kinds of conveniences built right in, making it more affordable than you might think. It's a fun way to sample a place and know whether you would love to return someday for more in-depth exploration during a land-based visit.

wow....that's some suite.......I like the layout & the clean lines. It looks like they really thought of everything.How was it being at the front of the ship like that versus being midship?Thanks for a very informative video.
@InTheLoopTravel6 жыл бұрын
The front was nice. There was not much motion sailing on Deck 4 at the front. And the balcony access was at the side so we got good views there, too. Thanks for watching.

So you can't use the front deck? No thanks -- edit -- I've now booked the back one, so thanks for the information.
@gordoncrespo20453 жыл бұрын
The balcony is very big and faces both forward and to the side. Not being able to use the front facing balcony isn’t much of a issue especially because the forward suites are larger and have a more gracious layout, especially the dining area.
