This is one of the few PTX songs that fully featured Avi's beautiful voice and showed off his incredible range. Whenever I hear that rumble from Avi, I think of a comment by one of the judges on The Sing Off, Ben Folds, who referred to it as "butt-shaking bass"! Doesn't that just fit? Merry Christmas! Love this song and version. I saw an interview where Scott said this was Avi's baby. Apparently, he arranged it and chose the location. Not only does Avi sing beautifully, but that rumble bass throughout is just gorgeous ! Cheers!

Avi's training in opera as a basso profundo gave him the strength, not just to create those low, low notes, but also in reaching those higher registers with power and control. For a holiday example of what he can do, check out his rendition of "O Holy Night" that he arranged at the last minute to perform as a thank you to the 3 Texas cities whose shows had needed to be postponed earlier in his 2022 tour. And he and his band gave it a Texas flavor with the pedal steel. The 3 other gentlemen had beautiful parts. And of course, the incomparable Kirstie. She is one of the most emotive singers out there - "who's smile you can hear."

Well first it was lovely to meet your wife and meet the one who loves and cares for you. Your message was beautiful and so heartfelt, thank you and Merry Christmas to you and your family. As for the song, that was always my favorite PTX Cmas song, the combo of Mitch and Avi, it's just a gorgeous arrangement. I blast this in my car first off every years from Thanksgiving on. Now of course they've given us the Re-Upgrade of "Oh Holy Night" so geez, PTX just makes it harder and harder. Its still in my top 5 for sure, along with "Oh Holy Night", "The Prayer", "Say Something", "LaLa Latch", "Kiss From a Rose" and a couple of more. LOL. My math is more like Theoretical Physics so it's not really limited to 5....I mean there's "Prayers for This World", "Sweater Weather", "Colder Winter", "Amazing Grace", "Silent Night", "Star on Top", "Love Came On Christmas Day", "Christmas in Our Hearts", "Once Upon a December"....I mean geez who can get it down to a top 5 or 10 even with these guys. Its so hard and you have to use Theoretical Physics to get the match to even come close to seeming like 5!!! 😂 This one is so hauntingly beautiful in parts...I just love it!
