the guy without the eyeball was odin, god of war and death, he showed up as a messenger because it was believed that ragnar was descendant of odin, so ragnar and his sons have a connection with him

everyone's always commenting on how it shows how big of a deal Ragnar was - when the king of the gods himself comes down just to report his death to his sons. Whether or not Ragnar believed in them was clearly inconsequential, they, or at least this one god, had more than enough respect for him

The Last Kingdom is definitely a masterpiece. Vikings was so awesome due to Lore and visual spectacle from the Vikings perspective. The Last Kingdom is a writers masterpiece that really balances the perspective from both the english and vikings during the Anglo saxon period. There are a number of Viking characters that translate over. The great thing with The Last Kingdom is that every episode and every season just got better and better to the point where i ended up loving it just a slight bit more than Vikings. In my opinion there is just a bit more "Umph" to the story telling of it than the visual spectacle that Vikings brought. I Love both series though.

@@AndresElRey Oh yes. Lots. Not going to spoil anything. I just love how Alfred (priest's son in Vikings) gets his due respect. He didn't really get much time in VIkings. In The Last Kingdom he is truly given more respected time, along with his famous son & daughter who you will come to love. He is after all known as Alfred the Great during the Viking wars. This is not a spoiler. Its just a little insight to the time setting and character history that wasn't covered much or at all in Vikings.

Tbh, I prefer Vikings for the simple fact that personally im a very deep person and i like things that leave me completely emotionally wrecked. I would say vikings is more emotionally charged which i love. I also got attached to the characters a bit more. I love the darkness of it

A few things. Lagertha loved Ragnar so she has respect for his children. She has no desire to harm them. Bjorn puts his play thing in everything. He's not the family man like his father. If you remember his daughter died and he really didn't have any reaction to it. Ragnar's attributes: Family man, explorer, skilled fighter, strategist.

Yes last kingdom is awesome.I don't think its like vikings.I actually think its more accurate. I loved it and am waiting for the last season.I hope you watch.

me too - but after you've finished all 6 seasons of 'Vikings'. There are some same historical characters in both shows and it'll be less confusing that way. Maybe the release date for the fifth and final season of 'The Last Kingdom' will be confirmed by then (who knows when next seasons are coming out of anyhow what with the new variant buzzing around.

about "the last kingdom" i can't say much, because i never watched the whole thing, only 1 episode, ik it's supposed to be more accurate, but i think i like vikings more, because it has that spark that i didn't see in the last kingdom, but i wouldn't take my opinion on this too seriously, cause as i say, i've seen only 1 ep, it could be really good show, so if you want to watch it, you should i also recommend if you haven't seen it already: 1."shameless us" - it's like half drama half comedy ig? but there's always something going on, so it's pretty entertaining, also the plot overall is interesting, it covers a few serious topics, i often go back to watch some "comfort" episodes, it gets weird sometimes, but entertaining nonetheless 2."the walking dead" - really good, i've been watching since 2013, i love the earlier seasons especially, it does have some slow episodes tho, but i haven't seen any other show similar to twd, it requires commitment 3.stranger things is good but it's pretty new, only 3 seasons and it's not finished yet, i think it does get better with every season 4.prison break - it's from 2005, but the quality is good, i like the plot, really nice writing and also Wentworth Miller is the lead which is a plus for me

I like Last Kingdom but in my opinion maybe you need to step out of that genre for a little bit. I have recommendations, as I am sure many do. Ask for some ideas, then do a poll.

@@AndresElRey It does. But Vikings in season 4 gets split up into basically 2 seasons; A & B until the end thats a lot of episodes... You will love it, I promise. At the very least you won't regret it.

@@michelleortega1514 I dropped cable, we watch Netflix and Amazon Prime mostly anyway. I added AMC plus channel to Prime. I get TWD a week early. It's cheaper. I miss sports tho. I heard the last kingdom is good. I need to check it out!
