I'm sure in hindsight last year's moon wasn't that bad. It gets worse with every new deal. It's got to be more than 34 now. Let Chase get his deal. Then it'll have to be more than 38. The price is going up every day.

@@randallmorgan6697 Exactly and that's why JJ's agent is strategically waiting for someone like Chase to jack up the market. It's in Kwesi's hands so we'll all have to wait and see. I bet the deal happens a couple of days prior to training camp.

We're so stubborn when it comes to signing interior offensive line..and ppl saying Risner wasn't that good but when we got him and was playing we thought he was great. Pretty sure he didn't give up 1 sack his whole time starting. Brandel isn't the worst but Risner is definitely overall better.

I'm pretty sure franchise tag requires you to pay average of the top 5 QBs. No matter what kind of year he has he's not worth that to us or another team.

The question for the Vikes would be how much they are prepared to pay to buy the likely picks that he is likely to return, especially if Darnold plays well and wins the division and or a playoff game. $15m for a 2nd and 4th? $20m for a 1st?

Folks sleeping on Darnold. Everything that people say about McCarthy is also true for Darnold - he has a great arm, moves well in the pocket, runs well, will benefit from KOCs playcalling, and the great roster. Darnold could easily win the NFC North. I think PA is 100% on the money re Darnold.

Where is the crap coming from? Vikings are going to have a top 10, maybe top 5 defense. Even with Darnold, a 500 record should be expected. Darnold would have to lose us games on his own to do worse.

Vikings sitting on an underdeveloped #2 overall pick, who is still only 25. Who knows, at this point, if something doesn't click with Sam. How great would that be? I say this not to the exclusion of JJ McCarthy. What a great problem to have if Darnold leads the Vikings to win some games, and you have McCarthy developing behind him. Injuries happen, so McCarthy would be ready to step in, if necessary.

Sam Darnold will take over the distinction from Kirk Cousins of being the most hit quarterback in the league, due to our SUCKY OFFENSIVE LINE. The same sucky offensive line, plus with O'Neill getting long-in-the-tooth, plus Darnold will have to contend with getting used to a new coach and a new system and he won't have the locker room rapport and the leadership that Cousins had - this is going to be an ugly season.
