In the actual norse mythology Loki is actually a brother of Odin. Odin was worshipped by the nobility. The norse believed that half of all those that die a warriors death go to Valhalla where they feast with Odin. In Valhalla the warriors fight each day and then feast, their bodies heal everytime by the next day. The other half who die a warriors death go to Fólkvangr which is a place ruled by goddess Freyja. It's incredibly interesting, I love reading about norse mythology

bravo! great show to start! If you like Vikings, please give The Last Kingdom series a try too! Vikings starts off very historical but by season 4 begins to deviate into more fantasy style

Despite everything bad Haraldson did you cannot blame him for not wanting to risk his ships or reputation by sailing west. At the time they didn't know there was land west. It was truly rumors. If you invest ships, supplies and men only to find out they don't come back you have wasted much of your resources and put yourself in danger. You have also ruined your reputation with such a foolish waste.
