Too often, we only hear stories of despair and hardship when it comes to rural Sri Lanka. But as full-time travelers across the country, we’ve had the privilege of discovering so many inspiring stories of incredible people with amazing attitudes, doing extraordinary things! I hope this video inspires you as much as it inspired us. Sri Lanka is full of stories like this-we just need to shine a light on them!

Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka first introduced rubber to this village and Mr Attanayaka is the 1st farmer who did a marvelous job to adopt rubber to this region. Because of him thousands of families benefited now.
Your gentle handling of the subject and the extremely high production quality make this video some of your finest work. Congratulations to all involved.

So nice to see this village life still in existence. Reminds me of our childhood. Trees, paddy fields and forests were our playgrounds. And like you say, yes being amongst nature evokes something within. Sadly the new generations will never know what that means or how it feels. This is super vid that shows what the true village life is like in Sri Lanka.

This video expanded my awareness into an area I'd never thought about. With so much to admire in this video, I'm reluctant to quibble about one small detail but must point out: natural isn't the same as safe. Yes, we should avoid many non-natural products such as plastics (made from natural petroleum) in mattresses. But one example of a natural element not used in mattresses today but very unsafe to be around is asbestos. Other natural resources can be carcinogenic, radioactive, etc. I'm not equating rubber-based latex to asbestos, just saying: natural doesn't equal safe. Nonetheless: many thanks for sharing this outstanding video!

21:19 rightfully said! adding value and showcase traceability is the way to go! looking forward to see the same happening to cocoa, coffee and vanilla farming as the branch is still not structured in a way quality improvements can be incremented and deliver value.

After a long time i met a video about sri lanka rubber industry. But sri lanka rubber cultivation is not a beautiful story in many areas totally. Its very sad story in Sabaragamuwa province. All of our rubber trees turned into leaf less trees in some months of the year. Anyone didn't give any solution until now. All of the rubber cultivators in this area face a big problem now. Please help us for find solutions.
