Deep Inside Habarana Village Life, Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 PART 1

I have returned to my beloved island and country for the fourth time with a singular purpose: to attend the grand opening ceremony of our Village Education Center in Polonnaruwa. This series on Sri Lanka will be brief, consisting of only five videos, after which I must depart. During my short visit, I endeavored to capture as much footage as possible to showcase the country's beauty from new locations in the central region. Actually all the lakes you see in Sri Lanka is man made by ancient kings. They have built thousands of these giant tanks around Sri Lanka, specially in dry zone. In Polonnaruwa, theres "Parakrama Samudraya" which is call as sea because of the gigantic size of it. You can see water waves also. Most of them are located in Anurapdhapura and Polonnaruwa which were the capitals in Sri Lanka4th century BC to 13th century AD.

In this post, my heart skipped a beat, a handsome man is walking around, his eyes are shining, all smiles and spreading "thank you" to everyone. I thought - here in front of us is a "groom". It is possible that I was "a little" wrong, I meant the groom of the blog, the groom of the "opening of the school" and for me the groom of the post. This is exactly the place I would like to be, to visit and meet the people whose livelihood is like their art and there is no substitute for their work. It is wonderful that with the help of simple tools created by nature they create wonders. The place is wild and the road winds between a lake and small streams. In all the thicket of vegetation, people live and preserve their culture and their faith. Davud, Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. Your desire to convey to the viewers every "second" of an action, and every possible explanation so that we can get the live feeling of the scenes. This is not an easy conclusion, and you do not compromise and describe to the fullest possible extent. So handsome, and so talented, for me you got the gold medal a long time ago.

This was the main way of transportation when there was no vehicles in Sri Lanka and owning a bull and a bullock cart was like owning a vehicle at the time really nice still the old cultural practices are done my grandpa had bullock carts and my father used to tell stories about them when i was little really cool and the bull looks huge love the video Davud nice one.

This reminds me of village experience safaris in Turkey, making bread seeing small homes,m visiting countryside, and visiting local countryside. Winding down from speed of modern life. In a way I think this is better because Sri Lanka has more animals to see and even the bull was a very different animal than tourists would expect. How a stupa is built is a bonus because people will see huge ones on other tours.

If you love history there are so many valuable places to visit.After Portuguese invaded and due to drought and so many other reasons those places were abandoned.people are becoming poor and poor because corrupted politicians neglected poor villagers after getting their votes.When I was in Sri Lanka I used to teach a very rural area and your travel reminded me my past. Very interesting video, kind of wonderful trip experience, intereting culinary expertience, kind people, in part when riding boat to and after visited the village is awesome. It saw how beautiful Sri Lanka's nature....., peacefully ride, not noisy of boat machine. They should keep the idea to use this traditional boat ride., so tourist s can enjoy the nature peacefully and calm water. Its beatiful l life actually, very close to the nature, where people can enjoy the sun and nature everyday. The philosophy said : where there is water, there is a life at there.

You are extremely lucky guy. The temple you visited was the temple Lord Budhdha got his enlightenment .History was hidden by British and re wrote as if Budda had his enlightenment in India. When they discovered recently the truth, they burried Budhdhas seat 2years before to conceal the truth. Bro if you can make visit and explore more. This temple has some spiritual power since it was the place Budhdha resided almost 6 years.🌹🌹🌹The Bodhi tree was the one Budhdha paid his gratitude for 7days for helping him to be enlighten

This village tour is amazing. I actually felt sorry for the animal's neck,supporting the wooden steer but the skin on the neck turns hard and the bull feels no pain. Boat ride here too and you see Sigiriya in the distance. Sri Lanka close to my heart.❤😊

I think they should add 4 small wheels to the cart and tie the bull to the cart with a bridle like we tie horses. It would be much comfortable for the bull.

The vegetable is not "cucumber" but it's called "Cooking Melon" in English. Kekiri is the Sinhala name. Cucumber in Sinhala is Pipigngna. There is another Kekiri, sweet variety called Seeni Kekiri, similar to that of cooking melon.

In our childhood there were many bull carts which were used for transportation. Then tuk tuks took over. FYI there are thousands of man-made lakes in sri lanka which were built by ancient kings to support rice cultivation of farmers.
