Richard Guidote yup, i talked a bout why i think both in the original village runthrough and also in this video. they dying meeples made jen said, so it's not a keeper, inspite of its brilliance!

***** Oh you really should! It changes the game almost completely and equals the point generation difference between journey and market actions (with the downside that the games point mechanisms are now centered around the market and journey scoring isn't a complete separate mechanism like it was before). But the best part are the silver and especially the gold life goals, which can really change the way you play (although they do not give players variable powers they have the power to change a players playing style and I really think of them as a victory point version of Eminent Domain's scenario cards or Tzolkin's starting income tiles). In my opinion the second expansion increases the replayability even more than the first one already did and I really hope you find the time once to play the game with it :-)...

Kudos to the run-through and even more for saying that your emotional. Society wants men to be emotionless and I hate that, I wish I could show more emotion just ask my wife :). Nice going, I love all of your run-throughs. Its like I miss a friend when I miss a week and not watch one of your videos. All though it would be better on my wallet if I stop watching ;).

Getting attached to your family members in Village because you know they will have to die? Not ridiculous. See also: Not being able to feed your family during the harvest in Agricola. I seriously hope they never make a version of that game where your family members are represented by something other than a geometric shape. That game is stressful enough without more drama.

Don't dis ameritrash! That said, Tom was wrong on this one. Nothing boring about this euro. If only my wife would play it with me. She'd love the theme but I think it'd just be too heavy for her. Carcassonne is just about her limit.

cindy tang I always look up reviews from different people and even though I also really like ameritrash I do not always agree with Tom Vasel. I think what is missing from many euro-games is a strong theme and that is probably why I tend like ameritrash a little more. Luckily Village has theme in spades while still being a really solid engine building, cubepushing eurogame.
