The clarinet along with the lute( and the Pontic and Cretan lyras) has been in Greek traditional music for quite a few centuries now. Each region here in Greece has a very distinct sound like those from Epirus like the band. They are all from the villages of the region hence the name Villagers of Ioannina City (Ioannina is the prefecture's capital and we call it the London of Greece because it's humid and rains a lot). Now the lyrics as you said it's in Greek traditional song calling for people to get up and fight for what is right and beautiful in this world. To rebel in a sense against the system. As for listening if you likes the traditional sound I would suggest Ti Kako and Krasi (what an evil and wine their translation) Here's a rough translation to this song.
