Not so much actually, neanderthalensis had bigger brains than sapiens and almost disappeared then the remnants got assimilated. The success of homo sapiens most likely comes from the efficiency with which they hunted, humans are the best distance running animal on land ever, most animals can run from humans initially, but humans will always catch up, no animals can run 80 km without stopping except humans. This tactic is still used by some tribes in Africa and they boast a massive 90-95% of hunt being successful. They literally run after some animal for half a day and when the animal finally falls to the ground exhausted and overheating they just have to put it down. That's the skill that let us flourish all those years ago, intelligence is more of a byproduct.

@@GamebertYT - You're obviously not a fan of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. "The Babel fish is small, yellow, leech-like, and probably the oddest thing in the Universe. It feeds on brainwave energy received not from its own carrier, but from those around it. It absorbs all unconscious mental frequencies from this brainwave energy to nourish itself with. It then excretes into the mind of its carrier a telepathic matrix formed by combining the conscious thought frequencies with nerve signals picked up from the speech centers of the brain which has supplied them. The practical upshot of all this is that if you stick a Babel fish in your ear you can instantly understand anything said to you in any form of language. The speech patterns you actually hear decode the brainwave matrix which has been fed into your mind by your Babel fish. "Now it is such a bizarrely improbable coincidence that something so mind-bogglingly useful could have evolved purely by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as a final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God. "The argument goes something like this: 'I refuse to prove that I exist,' says God, 'for proof denies faith, and without faith, I am nothing.' 'But, says Man, the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and, by your own arguments, you don't. QED.' 'Oh dear,' says God, 'I hadn't thought of that,' and vanishes in a puff of logic. 'Oh, that was easy,' says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing. "Most leading theologians claim that this argument is a load of dingo's kidneys, but that didn't stop Oolon Colluphid from making a small fortune when he used it as the theme of his best-selling book, Well That About Wraps It Up For God. "Meanwhile, the poor Babel fish, by effectively removing all barriers to communication between different races and cultures, has caused more and bloodier wars than anything else in the history of creation."

@Ashish Rajput As I stated I know nothing about the Koran. I'm an atheist, but I have read the bible twice. Many people who stand by the bible, believe things like the earth is only 6,000 years old. Man was directly created by God using the earth's dust and Eve was created from Adam's rib. So when they encounter ideas that we came from apes so long ago it is counter to every thing they believe in and that causes them to distrust the truth. The Koran could be completely different, I have been told they share similarities, but I don't know what similarities those could be.

I'm in awe. This channel keeps getting better and better. It's not only about villagers reacting to western stuff, but also reacting to information they never had. And this reminds you of the first time when you - yourself - learned about this. Absolutely heartwarming. And how they immediately said "all humans are the same" - this really killed me. I love you guys.

This is so amazing considering that these people grew up in traditional cultural environments, yet are so open to absorbing this information without letting it conflict with their world view. They can simply reconcile the two, as it should be. It maddens me here in the West how stubborn people can be and can't seem to marvel or learn new things due to their strict dogmatic beliefs. The people in these videos have a certain wonder and awe for the world, and it allows them to be open to new ideas, almost innocent, like a child. So many people have lost that ability as they've hardened over the years, and solidified their beliefs, leaving no room for learning or discussion.

These three gentlemen are proof that ignorance and stupidity are two entirely different things (although sadly they often go together). It is unquestionable that by certain standards they are ignorant (ignorance simply being a lack of knowledge/information and not an insult or condemnation) about a lot of things. However they prove they are intelligent honourable men by not only wanting to learn more about the world (intelligent) but also not just blindly dismissing something that goes against their established knowledge (honourable). Which is more than a lot of "educated" people are willing or indeed capable of doing.

I'm surprised that for extremely religious people with very little education they didn't reject what they saw. A lot of hardcore evangelical Christians are fighting against the teaching of evolution and usually there's always a lot who come to comment and argue on videos like this. Of course the theory of evolution is fact, just like the theory of gravity, the germ theory and so on. The evidence are overwhelming from so many different scientific discipline. The variants of Covid is an example of one of the mechanism of natural / artificial selection.

I don't think that's a good idea for them to speak about their beliefs.
