The imagery of the dog is seldom mentioned. He started the movie with a Beagle puppy, a sweet gentle dog, a gift from his wife. He ended the movie by taking a pit bull puppy, that was slated to be put down. A perfect reflection of how his life changed over the course of the movie.

At an auction that model can sell for as much as $350,000-$400,000 but that exact car in the movie would go for no less than $1,000,000, unfortunately it's not for sale. In the driving scenes he's using a 1969 Mustang Coupe 390 modified to look like his 429 Boss, the owner wouldn't let them use the real Boss in stunt scenes.

A good movie in the same vein in regards to fighting would be the Indonesian movie The Raid (2011). The Raid and John Wick are probably the top ones when it comes to modern action packed fighting movies.

So loved your reaction,..this movie rocks,..I don't condone violence, but I am a soldier's child, and older now, realize there are some situations where the violence is necessary,..this show wasn't just violence alone, like you said it was emotional, there was loss, and grief, and sadness,..and what I liked about it is how Wick had actually been redeemed by love, and walked away from that life,..it's also a story about redemption if you will,..and stories where a character has decided to walk a different path, are always interesting,..there's a Godfather movie, in the Godfather series, where Al Pacino, has tried to walk away from that life, and there's a scene, where he says, just when I think I'm out,..they pull me back in, is kinda what he says, for him if I remember I think his daughter gets killed, can't remember if it was accidentally in a shoot out, or if it was intentional by a rival mob family, but that is the catalyst that pulls him back in, and there is another movie The Long Kiss Goodnight, where a character like John Wick, has left the "life", and moved on even having a family, and because again said family is threatened and must be pulled back into that former life, with those old killing skills,..it's an interesting story,..the fighting skill, and choreographed fights are exemplary, as a kid I was always watching war movies, movies where characters with some kind of military background, where the skills they learned were once again called upon, to protect family, friends, there's another, Commando, with Arnold Schwarzenegger where he has to protect his kid, who's been kidnapped,..so loved your enthusiasm as you watched this, it really is good,..huh the next three sequels only get better with each one,..do also check out Face/Off with John Travolta, Nicolas Cage, if it hasn't been suggested, again great action, and for really going to the way back,..there's an exquisite movie with Steve McQueen,..Bullit, with a gorgeous 1968 Mustang, I swear, that's as much a character, and star of the movie, as the actors,..my dad's friend had one like it,..lighter green, but every bit as beautiful, the car Wick drives in this first one, I saw how ya'll were impressed by it,..I know 😀,..there's another one with McQueen, The Hunter, think he's driving a Doge in that one similar to the one Vin Diesel drives in Fast and Furious, I think,..been so long since I've seen The Hunter,..do keep going, Godspeed, Peace ✌

My own parents are from India....I dont think they really appreciate the word "boogeyman." In Hindi, and other languages, you would need to translate for them THEIR version of the word "boogeyman" ....some kind of horrifying killer of children. The best I can imagine is that it would be like someone telling Americans that "We used to call John Wick the 'Chupacabra'" or "We used to call John Wick the 'Golem'". In South American cultures, the chupacabra is a demon that steals children in the night. In Hebrew, the Golem is a monster from deep within the earth that mindlessly kills people. But to Americans, these words dont have the same terrifying meaning. I, too, was hoping to see their reaction to the boogeyman dialogue, but when i saw them cut it out, it seemed to me that the word must be CULTURALLY different to them. Maybe to them, it was like hearing "we used to call John Wick blahblahblahblahman." Um....ok. Good to know, I guess.

it's weird to see *the product movie, produced based on the blueprint Western narrative* watched from eyes other than *the Western understanding* reminds me of little me watching movies back in the day, and not understanding why there was a jump from one scene to the next, and how did characters go from one situation to the other. accustomed as I was to cartoon shows that would usually cut at the end of a situation and go to something completely different, _having to keep the pace_ was new. that's all _Western storytelling_ at work: there's an underlying plot there, that we give for granted and agree to understand.... unless you are somebody not-from-the-west, or, you know, little old 7-year-old me watching Star Wars without context.
