They'll need to be taught how to use it as well, especially the fully-manual ones with no computerized tracking to help you find things in the sky. I own one and it does take a bit of time to learn how to use and maintain.

@VeroMithril Whatever telescope they get, it needs to be from a reputable company like Celestron, Meade, or Orion -- and not a cheap telescope from a shopping mall. I would recommend a refracting telescope, since it requires the least maintenance.

Or a visit to an observatory, renting it for an hour or two so they can see everything from objects in our solar system to distant galaxies etc. It would be a very long trip to the north of India though (observatories in Jaipur, Nainitar etc.) to reach the mountainous areas where the observatories were built.

I am pretty sure these people already know these things in some way shape or form. Where is this village? Why do they not have access to this information already? They can create a youtube channel with reasonable video editing and post this to the internet but for some reason, these people are also completely cut off from modern information like the size of various objects? Ridiculous. This channel is "feel good" material for some people to get that superiority complex pumping hard. The channel gets viewers and subscribers AKA money and the viewers get to feel "superior".
