History Comes Alive: Tribal People Experience the Roman Empire in VR
Have you ever wondered how tribal people would react to the wonders of the ancient world? For the first time ever, we gave a group of villagers (tribal people) the chance to experience the Roman Empire in stunning virtual reality!
This incredible video captures their very first reactions as they step into a bygone era, exploring bustling marketplaces, witnessing the grandeur of the Colosseum, and even encountering virtual Roman citizens.
Their awe and amazement are truly unforgettable! This heartwarming (and sometimes hilarious) journey will not only transport you to the heart of the Roman Empire, but also remind us of the power of human connection and the universal wonders of history.
Don't miss this unique opportunity to see the world through the eyes of these villagers (tribal people) as they embark on a virtual adventure they'll never forget!

Those white surfaces are just where historians aren't sure how they were painted, but they were painted. They know there was a lot of red.

Fact: most ancient statues, columns and monuments were colored, especially in the greek world, but also in most of Roman History. Microscope analysis has found many types of pigments on statues and columns. Most were stone powders such as lapis lazuli held by tree resins. Sadly, modern reconstitutions show "pure white marble" buildings and statues, which are influenced by centuries of incorrect beliefs about the ancient world.

They may like to know that Ancient Rome had many connections and trade with Ancient India, with an ancient Indian statue of Lakshmi even having been found in the ruins of Pompeii.

Really cool idea to show them that. Heard about this VR project before. Impressive work. A bit misleading unfortunately, though through all the white, pristine cleanness, which is of course due to the idealized computer-generated images and through gaps of knowledge, that we don't really know if and how all the buildings were painted - and its pretty likely that Rome was quite colorful. And possibly dirty, as is normal for any city in any age. A detailed look into a Roman residential home, a _villa_ , would be cool, too, and possibly something about how Roman aquaeducts worked.

When Babu says in ancient times they did not have such a good settlement, it is a bit sad to hear. India is full of history. The Indus valley civilization (mostly in today's Pakistan)was possibly the most advanced for its time. Madhya Pradesh, where they live, has decently preserved ancient monuments dating back +- 2k years.

Should show them a video on what it was like to be a gladiator in ancient Rome. The movie Gladiator is pretty close to what being in the arena was like around the 11th Century but it's not historically accurate regarding some of the main characters who were real people like Commodus who didn't die at the hands of Maximus who's a made up figure based on Ben Hur, but was killed by his bodyguard Narcissus after he made sexual advances towards him. He was also Caesar before his father Marcus Aurelius died, he didn't murder him, his father died of pneumonia during a military campaign in modern day Germany.

Rome was not bombed, it’s a very ancient city with buildings dating back thousands of years! The fact that you can see parts of those very old buildings shows how much the Romans knew about mathematics and geometry. I wonder how many modern buildings will still be standing in two thousand years!

I never heard it was bombed but they did say Musselini destroyed a fountain...that was probably around WWII so at that point they would have bombs. It is true a lot of it probably fell down just due to age. I don't know much about Italy in the time of WWII

The constant, overdone head nodding & shaking and meaningless hand gesticulating of the old guy annoys the crap out of me. I had to stop halfway through the video. His constant hand waving and bowing and head shaking drove me insane. Further: They seem not to understand, what the narrator is saying. It seems not to be translated to them. Too bad, that this channel is turning back to its old lazy ways of not explaining things to them and not correcting their wrong guesses right at the spot. I thought during the classic gods reactions, that you changed this old annoying flaw of this channel. But you didn't. What is the use of seeing this animation of old Rome, when they don't understand, WHEN this was and which names& purposes all those different buildings have? One of them said: This was in the times, when the people had swords! That was all that they comprehended from the different time jumps of this animation and the showing of different buildings from different times in the Roman Empire era. Well... 🙄 At least you could have explained to them, that the modern Romans aren't using horse carriages anymore to deal with daily transport tasks in their daily lives.
