While it’s true that Elise did plenty of awful things in Life 1 (like trying to commit murder, being indirectly responsible for a few more deaths although they weren’t intentional, and siding with those attempting treason), burning her to death was highly excessive since any other characters (including those who did much worse) earned a swifter and much less agonising death. I was expecting her to have been directly responsible for genocide or something to have warranted death by burning, but she wasn’t.

@@joimumu I'd argue he's still an A-hat. Regardless of what he does now, she still has the memory of being burned alive. Even if you can somehow accept someone doing that to you, you don't then have pink dreams about them. Those that do that kind of stuff are the ones the rest of us call a doctor for.

It was made clear that she was an incredibly awful person who has done unacceptable things and in that era where things like treason and betrayal are punishable by death, the prince didn't do anything that was out of the ordinary or insidious
