Bast can basically see into doom's soul and see if hes bullshitting bast or not. Not only does Doom believe his own hype, which bast pointed out, and was still bewildered by. But recognized doom wasn't spouting complete delusional bullshit when he said hes seen the future. Many futures, and in those many futures. Only the realities in which hes rules, do they not end up Apocalyptic shitholes. This is why Bast agreed with doom in the end, despite very clearly not liking it. Bast recognized doom's potential plan was a valid possible way to ensure the survival of Wakanda, and the natural order of things.

It's not so much that as him drawing a compartison to humanities worst acts. Viktor isn't a racist, a bigot, greedy or rageful. He has never contemplated genocide, is always open to negotiation and isn't driven by emotional reactions. @@luizhenriquealves9755Uh, no? Doctor Doom was written by a World War II vet who wrote characters like darkseid to parallel real world dictators like stalin and hitler. Under doctor doom, if you have a single thought without his permission and he finds out (and he will) you will be publicly executed. Is he an emotionally complex villain? Yes. But characters like Captain America see Doctor Doom the way they see Doctor Doom because he literally fought the Nazis. If doom had his way, you would be dead. Yes, you specifically. You are using the KZbin's comments section to express your opinion. It is a pro doom opinion, but you made the mistake of calling somebody other than Dr Doom a hero so you'll be walked into a disentigrator. Edit: The vet in question is jack Kirby

@@DragonoftheDarknessFlameit really is a difficult philosophical dynamic. The conflict is of freedom and hope (the heroes of marvel) vs logic and true peace (Doom). But isn't that point underminded by the fact it was another Doom that came along and, down to his own ego, blew up the universe out of spite? And the problem is, both Dooms are responsible. I feel like Doom relinquishing his power with Emperor Doom is actually some interesting character growth. He doesn't want to be Emperor of a bunch of mindless slaves that have no choice. Think doom just recognized that mindless obedience and basically slavery but in a different name was not the way he wanted to rule. Where as in Latveria he did rule with an Iron fist. But it was because people loved him and actually obeyed the rule of law with their free will. There was still conflict in Latveria but it was organic and small. People had free will. In emperor doom nobody had free will. They all just obeyed like drones. He recognized that soulless kind of leadership was wrong and something he did not want. Which was something he slowly began to recognize after his conflict with wonderman.

I'm a simple man, I see Doom, I click. Doom Quotes, Doom Best Moments, and very few of them are "good" at best. This is the best Dr.Doom video I have ever seen. The philosophical references to Plato's Republic, Immanuel Comps Categorical Imperative, and Carl Schmit are nothing short of impressive. A reminder that Doom is one of the few people to survive meeting wakandas panther God…who kills all with impure hearts. She looked into his soul, and saw that the world would, indeed, be better off under his rule. So much so that she allowed Doom access to all of Wakanda's vibranium. She didn't like him…but couldn't deny the truth. Also let’s look at Doom’s relationship with Valeria Richards. If Doom was truly a villain he would have let her die (which would have devastated Reed and Sue) but he saved her life. He loves and cares for her deeply…and is a better father figure to her than Reed Finally…the people of Latvaria genuinely adores Doom and he loves his people Because of Doom there is no starvation, crime or homelessness in Latveria His people fear neither war or invasion because of Doom

He just saved Valeria life to prove a point : that he could do something Richards couldn't. Also, pretty sure that he's just grooming her to become a mini-him and the only excuse found to explain why he's a "good dictator" is because any person taking his place happen to strangely be "worst". Writers can d*ck-ride him all day long but in the end, it doesn't matter : Victor Von Doom is and always will be just a petty manchild seeking attention and validation... oh, and revenge on Reeds Richard because apparently, the Man at the Head of Latveria has somehow time for that and abuses his diplomatic immunity to never get arrested when doing crimes on American soil.

@@Dickson_ The main difference is in what is most fundamental for each moral framework. For deontologists (such as Kant) it's *what is right*, which is defined in terms of fixed moral duties, and there are certain things we should never do, such as lying, killing, stealing, etc. Consequentialism on the other hand focuses on *what is good*, and what is right is merely defined in terms of what is going to achieve the good: if killing millions is going to achieve the good, then killing millions is right, hence the phrase "the end justifies the means". Doom thinks everything he does is justified because it's for achieving the better end, and that's a consequentialist perspective, not a deontological one (Kantian).

@TsukasaHackOnline apples n oranges. A person isn't a finger or just a branch. Doom is a tryant who is unable to accept that others may be able to make the best decisions for themselves. I know people try to equate large groups of people as a singular entity, but that's so they can deflect any harm done to a few as a necessary evil.

Thank you Rob, so many people tell me how evil he is and I've said countless times that while he has done terrible things he does have heart...I look at his relationship with Valeria as a clear example of how Doom can and is quite kind when he wants to....his run as Infamous Iron Man as well came from a place of redemption and self-actualization....to say he is evil is not understanding just how complex he is...I love Doom always have and always will

@@BBBHueydude, stop. If they wanted an RDJ Doom they could’ve made him from that universe where they switched minds and have that reveal at the end. Make it Tony but evil and in the ending show actual doom from their universe coming out. RDJ Tony is a stupid whimper of marvel trying to appease all of the fans they’ve lost with their horrible films and they use Tony only because everyone loves RDJ and iron man. Waste of potential, and doom is one of if not the greatest comic villain ever. Waste of RDJ and waste of Dr Doom

@@oldylad I'll admit that Marvel Studios' films have been hit and miss as of late. Phase 4 certainly hasn't been off to a good start. But turning Tony Stark from another universe into their version of Doctor Doom sure isn't a bad idea. Both Doom and Iron Man wear armor. I mean, it made sense that Tony and Bruce made Ultron instead of Pym. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Tony's Iron Man designs became Sentinels to battle the X-Men.
