I miss her so much ... That was the first tv show I've watched and when I saw Villanelle I fell in love with her instantly, not in a romantic way but I felt some kind of connection and no, I didn't murder anyone, I don't think about it and I'll never ever do it, never. It's just that I felt so happy seeing two women playing the main characters of a show that doesn't fetishize them, they had a great story although the heartbreaking end, I'll never forget that two. I'll always love Eve and Villanelle and I really need more tv shows with strong, fearless women, it's so fascinating! Sorry for the monologue;)

As someone whose father is very much about self-image and how he works so hard to have this 'flawless' life - despite being a complete disaster who treats others, including his kids, like shit -- yeah. I can relate to Villanelle. The way her mother makes it all about herself and is a mother when SHE wants to be a mother. The way her mother makes out she's the victim... It really shows through the kids behaviour how they struggle to make sense of the 'relationship' they have with her.

@lar There are lot of things that are not very accuarate. But also not all psychopaths have to be the same. However there are certain patterns. Also I wouldn't cathegorise her as a sociopath either. Overall I think they are just trying to make her likeable.

@@taniaaesthetic7699 Villanelle’s mother is more of an accurate psychopath than Villanelle. In the books, Villanelle is more of a cold-blooded, unemotional, manipulative and power-driven like her mother in the tv show. While Villanelle in tv show is so childlike and emotional.

@@ataventurine7515 I personally think that Villanelle's mother suffers from narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), while Villanelle, as a consequence, suffers from ASPD, and she's a sociopath btw (in the TV series, I don't know the comics), not a psychopath. There's a difference between the two, but unfortunately most people don't know this. A psychopath (unfortunately) wouldn't be able to feel all these emotions, like sadness for example ( after Villanelle's mother rejection, you could see how that hurt her, and obviously there are many more examples in the show apart from this). Also psychopaths can't form or feel attachement towards another person, they can't really love or care, while sociopaths can do that (Villanelle loves Eve, in her own.. unhealthy way), but only with like one or two people. There are other differences between the two, but it's not important. Sorry for my english, it's not my mother tongue

I do think Villanelle in the TV series is a sociopath, she’s emotionally volitive and impulsive. While Villanelle’s mother maybe a psychopath or a narcissist, because the two could have many similar qualities except that the psychopath lack emotion and the ability to feel remorse at all. The mother seem pretty chill when her daughter want to murder her....lol

I also feel her mother was controlling and domineering over Oksana's father, likely emotionally abusive. Perhaps once Oksana was born the hold her mother had over him began to loosen because Oksana became his whole world. Daddys little girl. It was then the mother felt threatened by oksana, who was just a child, that caused her to give her away. Its why her mother said he would do anything she'd say, that she was darkness ect. Mother became jealous of the attention her spouse was giving to oksana. Just a theory though
