Villavicencio was amazing! Great outdoor vibes and a bit more peaceful compared to other cities across Colombia.
We saw monkeys and did some moderate hikes. It was really a month to remember.

Villavicencio is outside the common tourist circuit in Colombia and is really unfair beacause the city is full of nature and great things to do.

We totally agree! It was nice not seeing a lot of foreigners, however. People seemed really surprised to see a gringo and they were more inviting than usual compared to other places.

Thank you! - In Villavicencio, I recall a lot of random people and taxi drivers wanting to use the English they knew... but most businesses and establishment didn't have any English speakers whatsoever. Villavicencio doesn't get a lot of international tourism like you'll find in Medellin, Cartagena, or Bogota.

This we could never answer. Villavicencio is much smaller and hotter. The rainy season seams intense. Mid-summer we're talking about 25 days of rain in both June and July. We visited in February... This city is in the transition zone of mountains and the northern Amazon rainforest... So, you'd really have to go explore it yourself... But what was super surprising was the food, really good restaurants.
