@@bouncyoink1234 Nah, what makes Vic Chesnutt's songs great is his irreverence, his dry contempt for politeness and particularly for affectation. Sharon Van Etten's style, especially on this track, is wholly affectation, which is pretty damn shallow considering the point of the song and how Vic actually did end his life. The conversation Vic has with himself is frank, brutal, unflinching, and I don't know what this lazy, pouting saloon drawl version is supposed to be doing with it, but it isn't good.
