I would use it if it was full frame. By the way I haven't seen you in KZbin for a while. I wish you made a video comparing the 50mm and 85mm 3rd party options.

We are kind of taking a break. Doing KZbin is a grind sometimes. Even if you're not using a full frame camera this is a really nice lens. Perfect for portraits

Definitely, You need to have a little bit of room though because unless you're outside it's very long lens to use indoors.

I've pretty much got a three stop ND on this 80% of the time. I'm usually outdoors and shooting wide open. My shutter speeds are still crazy of course. I'm going to start doing video work with it as well, so going to need a more heavy handed ND. I'm a Sony shooter.

Like you I mostly use zoom lenes. I use older sigma f mount on the ftz attached to my Nikon Z5. No autofocus with the lenses, unfortunately. Wanting a new lens to replace the kit lens! I would consider this lens for sure since I don't own a prime lens!

If you don't mind the long focal length this would be a great prime lens to add to your kit. I usually use my 70 to 200 for portraits but this is much smaller and easier to travel with. I will be taking it with me wherever I go from now on.

Too long between. Great info. Question: Can you use this for macro, like how close can you get to the subject? Also I don't see Canon compatible. Do you know if there is one? If you know. TYI Joel.

I don't think they have the Canon version out yet. Also it's not really a great macro lens it's got about a 3 ft focal distance. So you need to be standing a little bit of ways from your subject to get sharp focus.

I can attest to to the quality of this lens, I own a Sony version and it's outstanding. You have some great examples of its abilities, but what I don't understand is that several of your examples would normally only be included in showing how bad a product is, and why you should avoid it. Why you would include those in your review? :54 - so mushy and noisy that it says nothing good about the camera or lens. The same at 3:16. 2:35 - no, not good eye focus, the focus is on the hairs on her shoulder. 6:02 - again, either looks like missed focus or bad lens (1080 is not the format to emphasize sharpness quality, especially at extreme magnification). I think these few bad examples are really doing a disservice to the quality of the equipment.
