The review was great, and very knowledgeable of the product. The product is a different story. I have owned it for six months, and used only about 10 times. I turned it on, and no power. Batteries all check out, but no power LED.

@@jasminelaflare you can get an external power adapter you will have to look on the monitor to see the voltage and polarity you need for it.

Great! I spent $20 bucks more and got the upgraded 4K with HD-SDI in and loop out . Very affordable 4k monitor for my 6 camera HD-SDI Live switcher and good when on a C300 II & III and Ursa mini Pro especially when it's on a crane.

Hi, I am using the same model on my Canon 600d, it's works great but any time I press the recording button on the camera, the camera LCD turns OFF whiles my viltrox DC 70 II is ON recording. How can get both monitors ON display whiles recording?

Hello I don't know if you can get both screens while recording with the 600d. I don't have one to test with but I know many of the Canon cameras won't allow both screens at the same time while recording. Sorry I couldn't help more. Cheers.

Thanks so much @Gilbert Llantion I will have to see what my settings are but in general the screen isn't super crisp. For the price it;s hard for me to complain about that. Is your display fuzzy/snowy or just not crisp?

If plugging the microphone into the camera, how can I monitor the graphic audio on the monitor?

If your camera has audio meters that can be displayed you would just see them on the monitor via the HDMI connection. If your camera doesn't I'm not sure how you would do it. Not sure I answered the question let me know if I didn't. Cheers.

I haven't had any issues with the flip feature on mine I'm not sure if I can help. Maybe try a firmware update if it's not up to date?

hey there I got this the other day, I am having problems when recording video. every time I hit record on my Panasonic Luminx FZ330 I get this message on the monitor Now Recording Video and black screen. As soon as I stop record the picture returns on the monitor! the main reason I bought this item was to monitor the footage I recorded. really frustrating can you make any suggestions what I should do?

Hello. Some cameras don't support HDMI out while recording video. This may be the case for your camera. I would check the camera manual to see if that is the case. I have to run right now but I can also check later today to see what I can find out. My guess is that your camera doesn't support HDMI out while recording. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Actually I just had a quick look at the manual and I found this: Recording while monitoring camera images - ●This function is not available in the following cases: • During motion picture recording • During panorama picture recording • When recording 4K photos While this doesn't specifically mention HDMI output it seems the HDMI is limited in function. I found this on page 198 of the PDF manual I downloaded at: ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/camera/om/dmc-fz300_en_adv_om.pdf Hope this helps. Based on what I read I would guess HDMI out is disabled during video recording.

I'm not sure if the d5300 will output a clean HDMI signal out to the monitor. I would Google and see if that is possible with your camera. As far as recording this is just a monitor and not a recorder. I hope this helps if not let me know and we can try to figure out the issue. Cheers.

I'm not sure why your camera isn't outputting to the external monitor. Check this article for instructions to output HDMi from your camera. In the article it mentions outputting to a TV you can do the same thing to this monitor. Thank you for the review. I have the same monitor and a fuji xt4. For some shots i need 4k 50 fps, the problem i figured out, is that the monitor can receive a 4k signal but only in 25 fps. Is there a way maybe in the camera settings to record in 4k 50 and display it in 4k 25 for the monitor compatibility? Thank you very much in advance.

That is a great question. I have only used this at 24fps and haven't tried anything else. I don't know if there is a way to change the camera to record in 50p and output to 25p. Sorry wish I could help but I don't think I can.

Maybe if someone has the same problem, i found a solution: It is possible to change the HDMI-Output setting in the XT4 to 1080 so the monitor can display it in 50p while still recording in 4K 50p on SD.

Thanks for the awesome review. I was wondering if is it possible to use this monitor in a portrait mode (liveview & playback). Lets say I turned my camera from a landscape to a portrait mode will the screen rotate automatically? one more thing regarding setting the aspect ration does it allow shooting in a portrait or/and square aspect ratio. I want to use it mainly for double checking my exposure and focus both in my video work as well as photography. Thanks

+dark yes this can only be used in a horizontal orientation. I haven't found a way to use this so that the picture is vertical.

Honestly, I thought this monitor sucked. The navigation is terrible, the screen quality is poor, colors are completely different, and there’s tons of ghosting. Also the focus peaking only works in black and white. So stupid.

Yes sadly they don't sip with batteries. You need a Sony NPF type battery for this.

Hello I am not 100% sure about the auto signal detect but I think it works pretty well. 7" may be a bit small for a PC monitor but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use it with and HDMI signal from a PC. Hope this helps. Cheers.
