Hey, great video! :) Which switches do you use? I think they sound very satisfying.

Been watching for a long time. This video and a couple other Vim videos leads me to a question/comment. When I do development work I use VSCode exclusively regardless if I'm on Linux or Windows. My question is why would I switch to Vim? To me it seems like a step backwards. While I appreciate the FOSS philosophy, useability wins out. I know some out there are like screw Microsoft, but to me that's a valid argument. Back to my question. Why should I switch? I'm asking here because I respect your viewpoint.

I was asking myself the same question. For me neovim isn't a replacement for IDEs. Personally I use vim, in my case neovim, for all the small edits and even small projects. But for bigger projects I always use Jetrbains IDE's. I think the biggest advantage of text editors is, that they are so lightweight and fast. Even more when they are CLI based. But besides that, I know, that with the right extensions, neovim can be almost like a full IDE. If you want to give vim/neovim a try I can recommend using the neovim kickstarter script, it installs some extensions so you get some help with the commands and better highlighting for different file types.

@Steven-vr1ic and about FOSS, AFAIK there are free and open source community editions of vs and some jetbrains IDEs out there! ^^

Oh, and to answer your question. Its faster to write in vim than in common text editors or IDEs.
