OK never mind I see in your video how only multiplying the value times weight times products not including the Vin. makes sense, even with the sum substituted in between the subtract, then addition to equal the remainder for this example..👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼 great video tho.

The only letter that should be in the 9th position would be an X which is used as the number 10.

Its always X which means your number module 11 was 10.

Sir great video however you did make a mistake while adding the values of the Vin value wait and product when doing the downward multiplication right there where it says 6 to 2 to 2 =12 correct, should be 24

He is correct. Only the "converted VIN" to Numbers is multiplied by the multiplier giving just 2x6=12.

Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else trying to find out free car vin check try Ichordo Vehicle History Fixer ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my cousin got cool success with it.

Hi, well done presentation. However I cannot get it to give a valid check digit for Australian 17 digit VIN's for my 2005 Honda or my 2007 Kia. I did a spread sheet calc and your VIN passed but both mine failed but are legit and orig in Australia. Please verify and any reason why as I thought it was a standard internationally. Here is my Kia VIN KNADE241376286642 which translates to Numbers 25145241_76286642 The result is 364mod11=1 Remainder is 1 but VIN has a 9th digit of 3. I am confused. My Honda result was 327mod11=8 but VIN has 0. Cheers
