Is the production sequence number the total number of that particular model ( Tundra, Mustang, Cruze, etc. ) or is it the total number in a given model year ?

Actually in the 1980s the VIN numbers were expanded to 17 digits usually the 10th digit is the one telling you the engine size but the specifications of it was not really needed by the manufacturer

/Very confusing as you jumped around. I got dizzy looking at the circling of the pink pen, why not use a pointer and keep it on the area you are referring to. I believe the last 5 or 6 characters are the serial number of the car itself.

Usually it's on the driver side where the placard is about tire pressure also it's on your registration and your car insurance
