Used to hang with my friends listening to RA. Audience of one always had me wondering about when or if wed ever not hang out. "You run away, now all your friends have gone..." specifically. And now that im here, i remember when wed all be ready to go in the blink of an eye. "Wed run like vampires from a thousand burning suns.. (but even then we should have stayed)". Eats me up now thinking about those days. We were a tight knit.

This is quite interesting. For a while I had Vin pegged that it would take a lot to get in the inner circle but he seems like the kind of dude that once you get ride or die status you are family. Not sure why I thought that. Maybe it is just as simple as recognizing certain things from looking in the mirror.

Yeah, what you’re discussing is exactly the crux of a common “punk” mentality. Other people’s regard for you may have value ($) in certain contexts, but it can never exceed or supplant the intrinsic value of just and compassionate ideals. If the ideals are sterling, the alternative incentives and compensations are irrelevant. Valuing other people’s perception of you for reasons that provide very real reward and compensation is a tale as old as time after all. There are just some more obvious and accessible means of monetization these days.

They have a song called tip the scale, or entertainment that gives a good idea of what majority of their music is about. Mostly subliminal wake up messages.

The only thing that one is truly responsible for is your own happiness. You can't be responsible for anyone else's happiness and you can't hold anyone else responsible for your happiness. Do what will make you happier. Be honest about it, and be true to yourself. You can care and you should. But ensure that you are as happy as you can be. For yourself. You seem like good people.

When I hear “revolution”, I can't help but think of how these bands are calling for violent bloodshed anihilation of innocent people. That’s the story of all revolutions, it looks exciting until it comes and you realize things will never be the same again, in a very bad way.
@jamesoblivion3 жыл бұрын
What precedes revolution is no better. It's millions starving so that a handful can play god. That's a far worse hell, which provides no opportunity for liberation. Those to blame for revolution are those who exploit the population to its breaking point.

I don’t care about politics and you two seem like great people, but if you like trump to the point where you’re offended at people not liking him, be careful of what rise against songs you hear. They haven’t liked really any president since they’ve been around, but ppl seem so angry about shit like that now!!!
@FreezyBreeze143 жыл бұрын
Most punk rock (and a lot of metalcore/hardcore) focuses on progressive politics. A lot of times, the lyrics make it quite obvious. The number of Trump supporters that never realized bands like Rage Against the Machine promotes progressive politics is laughable.

@@FreezyBreeze14 I know and I am not a person who judges others on political views at all but I’m just sayin you know they have powerful lyrics that mean something and that offends a shit ton of people
