Thanks so much Barbara! 😊 Your comments are always so encouraging and much appreciated. I hope you’re having a wonderful day and your garden too. It looks like fall is so close I bet you are just as excited for the cooler weather as I am. 👍👍👍Liz

@@GardenHappy Hi Liz, I cannot wait until the heat lifts. I am so tuckered from the heat as I attempt to keep my sweet critters comfortable and the gardens alive. One more week.... please!! Jerry surprised me with 6 pots of beautiful vinca last week and I'm struggling to keep them alive. They were probably shipped from California and they are struggling in Tucson, Az. My homegrown vinca is acclimated and grows beautifully. I believe it's my favorite flowering plant. Well, we are both troopers and will carry on... lol. Love your videos.

Awww that was so nice of Jerry! Such a treat when our hubbies know what makes our hearts happy! Yes I agree it was hard this year keeping my chickens cool. The poor girls really suffer! And I just learned why my Americana hens panted the most! At first I thought their struggle with heat was due to their muffs and beards…. Actually it is due to their very tiny combs!!! Chickens release heat through their waddles and combs. My poor Americanas couldn’t release heat like the other girls. Maybe you already knew that… i just found that interesting. I learn something new every day! Haha Nice chatting with you Barbara. 😄Liz

@@GardenHappy That is helpful information about Americana chickens. Didn't know that. My Diva stays cool by standing in tubs of cool water I put in their coop. I am using 3 plastic oil pans (99cents at the dollar store) On the hottest days I will float a frozen water bottle in the oil pans. It's cute to see the girls taking turns in the cool water. The weather is changing, yeah!

@@BarbaraC02 Oh yes. . . besides their combs and waddles they release so much heat from their feet. I remember you telling me your strategies! I will do the tubs of water next year for sure. Liz

This was really informative to me-just purchased a little 6-pack of vinca and am looking forward to planting it! Was worried it was the invasive species but it doesn’t look like it is. Thank you for the video!

Your flowers and decor is always picture perfect! Those chicks clucking in the background is so pleasant. 😊You mentioned something about a water feature a while back I think? Did you still think ya might add one? I love the sound of water as well. Thanks and have a great weekend!

Awww thank you so much Karen! Hearing those chickens make their sweet sounds always makes me happy and content. I still want to add a water feature but I have to focus on paying bills first, after not working ( due to Covid) for 3 weeks. You know… LIFE happens! Hahahaha Hope you have a wonderful weekend as well. ❤️🥰👍Liz

I live in Florida and I’ve had vinca for years. I recently bought some vinca minor which has smaller flowers and spreads more. Regular vinca gets a bit too leggy for me.

Hi Jeremy, thank you for taking the time to comment. Maybe the regular Vinca gets too leggy for you because of your weather. I’m glad you have better luck with the Vinca minor. That is very beautiful and lovely for hanging baskets. I grow that as well and just love it. ❤️👍🥰Liz
