For those who are wondering, the old guy dancing in the video is Roy Acuff, whose nickname was 'The King of Country Music.' Vince can't believe this is happening to him, and he crushes it.

Vince Gill and Glen Campbell. In the world of country music, it doesn't get any better than these two guys. And their musicianship holds up even in other genres in which the music is more challenging are requires a lot more musicianship.

Vince is one of my favorites. I don't care what he sings, his voice takes me to a higher place. I am so glad he was born in my time or I'd have a hole in my heart and not know why.

At 7:42 John Hughey plays so well. I sure hope he will be remembered for his contributions to Vince Gill and Conway Twitty.

This has to be in 1991. They talked about the CMA named "When I Call Your Name" the song of the year.

I got to hang out with Vince on his first tour as an MCA artist, in Northern California in 1990. A very down to earth, generous soul. He gave me a free t-shirt after I drove all the way to the mountain town of Bishop, CA., to catch him; missing half the show. Saw the next two concerts he did, both at county fairs, and he was nice enough to let me video tape him and the band. Jann Brown was his opening act.

Went to a hockey game and a great concert broke out. First it was Vince Gill's blazing guitar doing Liza Jane and his version of the Beatles' I Saw Her Standing There and calling the thug, todd bertuzzi a sissy. Then John Elefante of Kansas sounding better than ever on Carry On Wayward Son, Fight Fire With Fire and Dust In the Wind. And the Predators won!

We saw him live in concert last winter. He was amazing! Especially jamming out to Aliza Jane, that we watched from row #6! When I Call your name is one of my favorites by Vince.

I don't know the exact date, but I remember watching a recording of this in August of 1991, so it had to be before that. Tony King on acoustic guitar and harmony vocals, Andrea Zonn on fiddle and harmony vocals, John Hughey on steel guitar, Jimmy Johnson on bass, Martin Parker on drums. Not sure who was on keys that night; may have been Pete Wasner.

I didn't know that was Andrea Zonn--what a talent in her own right! Great fiddle and perfect high harmony.
