Never before seen footage of an interview conducted by Vince Papale on the set of the movie "Invincible"

Well... he was the oldest rookie to play in the nfl without playing college. (besides kickers, and punters) I would say that that is quite the accomplishment.

there are some nobodies on this feed making fun of Papale and Wahlberg? wow two guys that did something with their lives while you sit on KZbin and criticize them because you have nothing better to do...smooth

Nathan Ridenour exactly ! I say to them come back and talk when you've been portrayed in a movie, some people are just naturally jealous

This is an awesome interview...props to Papale and to Wahlberg for showing us how to be!
@SDesWriter2 жыл бұрын
I have really gained so much respect for Wahlberg for the way he throws himself into movies. You're talking about a guy who was a teenage thug, then in a boy band, and now has given performances like in this, The Fighter, Rockstar, Patriots Day, etc.... Not the greatest actor, but someone who always gives 100% and seems like one of the best people in Hollywood off screen.
@richardgrace5043 Жыл бұрын
The most impressive thing about him in this movie if you rewatch it there is a scene where during a game where the character gets absolutely blown up running down the sideline and then gets back up and keeps running, it wasnt scripted and wasn't supposed to happen one of the stunt men (other player in this case) miss timed the hit and caught him head on and flush full force and they decided to keep it all in

The real Vince Papale was not a small guy who came out of no where. He was a track star in high school and college. At 6' 2" and about 200 he was not a small guy as portrayed in the movie. He also played in a semi pro league as a wide receiver. Still an accomplishment to get to the NFL...and stay fro three years.
@Herc113557 жыл бұрын
He did come out of no where because he did not play college football which is unheard of.
@teej7837 жыл бұрын
Not unheard of. Even if you count kickers as not really being football players, there are more than a hand full of players that went Pro without playing college football. Ray Seals even played for a SB winning team with Pittsburgh. Granted most are guys who were academically ineligible for college football but some have come from Rugby teams.
@patrickcolon88096 жыл бұрын
He also played 2 seasons for the Philadelphia Bell in 1974 and 1975, immediately prior to his 3-year stint with the Eagles. At the time, the WFL was essentially the USFL of its time (also similar to the first few years of the AFL in the early 60's.)
@trauma44656 жыл бұрын
Mark whalberg also played the Texan Marcus Lutrell in Lone Survivor, which mark is 5'8 and Marcus is 6'5 😂 he did good, but the size was off haha 😂 Marcus Lutrell is actually in a couple of small scenes in the film to

invincible is my fav movie.not coz i like football or for papale but coz of the raw emotions in the movie
@LightenUpMcGraw12 жыл бұрын
Loved the movie but they really played fast and loose with his prior football experience as a pro. He was a pro player in another league the two years prior to joining the Eagles. He also was invited by Dick V. to a private try out for the Eagles. The open call tryouts were for real but Vince wasn't a part of that on the field.

Mark really kicked ass in this role

I instantly remembered this line when Super Bowl LII was the Eagles vs the Patriots. Mark was asked about who he wanted to win, and he said that he didn't mind who the winner would be, he was going to enjoy it regardless of the outcome. I'm sure he was very happy for us when we won.

Except for some of the action during game action looking a little "Disneysized", I was impressed at their attention to detail. All the clothing, hairstyles, football equipment (shoes, facemasks, etc. were of that era). This in contrast to "Rudy", which was supposed to take place in 1975 and yet looked more 1965 with the clothes, hairstyles, etc. I was an undergrad in 1975 and the only guys wearing their hair like Rudy and the other ND's, were ROTC.

@igalflint4 жыл бұрын
He is great but not for this roll . He's just too short and young Papale had such a strong and a thick neck and a very strong overall bone structure. Look at the size of his head!
@icemana512 жыл бұрын
@@igalflint I agree but people woulda bitched about that too because then they couldn’t act. Maybe Mark isn’t nest actor but he has an undeniable strong screen presence. Take act of valor for example. They used real navy seals for the lead roles, so they had the build, the attitude/personality and techniques Down Absolutely Perfectly. Yet they were NOT strong actors so the movie is hated on and didn’t do well. It no has a cult following but when it came out it was trashed.

SunsetSupermanRMB without a doubt. Football now is an incredibly brutal game, it used to be alot worse, guys now are faster and stronger, but back then they didnt have rules against dirty hits. so yeah i assume Papale injured hia finger balling
