How can social enterprises tap corporate social responsibility activities of corporations?
@anselmoadriano50163 жыл бұрын
Social enterprises may choose to offer their services. As an example, Tahanang Walang Hagdanan is a community of PWD laborers that produce eco-friendly grocery bags among others. They have collaborated with Rustan's Supermarket wherein they are the sole providers of their eco-friendly grocery bags and, in turn, the grocery chain promotes to its customers.

What would the government seek in exchange of public goods it could provide to social enterprises?
@anselmoadriano50163 жыл бұрын
The government may seek social enterprises to be competitive in the industry and boost the market. Goods or services of the social enterprise may also aid in the country's tourism efforts by showcasing their unique culture and heritage. Further, the government may seek contracts with social enterprises as a way of acquiring third-party entities to solve or mitigate societal issues.

The Bulacan Agricultural Training Center Inc. is an NGO that caters to agri-workers. An institution that equips them with the appropriate knowledge and skills training; and one that also provides employment opportunities in both local and international sectors.

Can individual philanthropy work for your chosen social enterprise?
@liannafrancescacabigas76753 жыл бұрын
I think that individual philanthropy can work for Arthrologic especially if the individual strongly resonates with the cause. The donor could be someone who is experiencing osteoarthritis as well. If Arthrologic can develop their knee implant to suit the needs of athletes who need TKR and expands their market to cater to them, then well-earning athletes who are interested in supporting the SE through funding can be a possibility.

I agree with Mathena! Individual philanthropy can be additional or supplementary for Messy Bessy, it can help raise more funds for their programs. However, given the integrated model of Messy Bessy, which allows the enterprise's primary stakeholders, disadvantaged youth to be employed and earn monetarily also teaches them much about joining the workforce and life skills, which are essential in the overall structure and mission of the enterprise. In fact, it was one of the founder's quests starting the business! (i.e how can we help people move forward without solely relying on donations?)

Will your chosen social enterprise benefit from volunteers? How?
@anselmoadriano50163 жыл бұрын
Rags2Riches may benefit from volunteers that opt to donate their worn-out clothes, old clothing, and other forms of cloth. This is beneficial for the social enterprise for this is one of their major needs to crafting their products (the process of upcycling).

Messy Bessy will be able to benefit from volunteers because in this social enterprise, there are a lot of responsibilities to be done but not enough man power to execute them, which is why some employees have to take on double roles. If there are volunteers, this would lessen the burn out rate of the employees and make them focus on their main responsibilities. Specific tasks that the volunteers could do would be: being mentors or tutors to the learners, assist in contacting corporate and academic partnerships, check on the well-being of the learners, and many more.

ANTHILL could benefit through volunteers for their product-testings, market research, and content creation. All three of these activities are mainly done by the internal ANTHILL team and don't have a formal method of conducting them. Their product testings are done by people within ANTHILL's network such as their customers or "weave-wearers". Their market research is conducted through Instagram stories and other suggestions from their weave-wearers. They don't seem to have a dedicated video creation team but they do regularly post on Instagram and have also published videos on IGTV. But with more volunteers, they may be able to gain more diversified insights and use the information to solve problems such as the hurdle of tapping into the Gen Z market.

What are the major resource needs of your chosen social enterprise?

What are the sources of income of your chosen social enterprises?
@alyannaty32133 жыл бұрын
Messy Bessy’s source of income comes mainly from the customers and consumers who purchase Messy Bessy products. Customers also help increase the popularity of Messy Bessy by sharing their experience with the products to others whether through social media or in their social circles. Moreover, Messy Bessy gets their income from resellers as well as they bring the products to a greater audience without having to set-up any physical stores. Resellers do this by providing a close range of supply of products to customers in provinces at a cheaper shipping cost, which then helps Messy Bessy garner more buyers.
